United States Grand Prix 2015, Austin - Race 16/19

Wasn't there one in Malaysia which they did start but was very quickly abandoned?
Malaysia in 09 was red flagged with half points (the famous Kimi Magnum race!)

There's been quite a few of those Australia in 91 was as well. Actual races where they never even tried to start must be very few and far between, none in the last 20-30 years anyway.

2009.

The worst that I can recall is Adelaide in 1991 which was ended after 14 laps, but if they'd stuck around it was sunny, hot and dried quickly, but it was the final race with nothing to be settled and cars scattered around the track.

Edit: Ginger step child.

Lol, people are actually thinking that Vettel could win this? Possibly next season if Ferrari make a leap during the winter, but some people here are starting to sound like Sky. It is a case of when, not if.

Not personally, but I'm looking forward to the point of being able to watch 2 or 3 races without thinking 'please don't muck this up'. Some nice, easy no consequence racing.

Also in theory with both championships in the bag everyone could go full test mode and we could see some of next year bits being developed.

We already are, thats why Ferrari are taking new engines this race.

I'm not actually clear on this, there were rumours about taking a new version of the engine for Kimi with some layout change stuff that would potentially require gearbox change and some noticeable changes in car bodywork.

A lot of people, myself included, jumped to Ferrari using this '2016' engine when they announced Vettel was going to take a new engine. But without that rumour we'd just assume they were taking a 5th engine for the last several races for max power reasons.

There is also a technical post in italian stating they've been told by Ferrari it's not a significantly updated engine, it has no tokens spent(the Kimi 2016 engine was supposed to use the remaining tokens) but has several reliability updates that are linked with fuel efficiency.

I get the impression the test engine was put on the back burner, maybe not ready yet and too big a risk. They both need a 5th engine though and this one has some of the smaller non token updates on it. I'd guess minor bump in fuel efficiency means a very slight bump in performance, wouldn't get away with a big bump in fuel efficiency without tokens most likely.

Just read if FP3 goes ahead and Quali doesn't they'll use FP3 results for the grid... So they may well be out there running!
Yes just read this myself! Could be right chaos as it looks pretty awful from pictures and nothing like suitable for a modern F1 car to lap in. If you were Mclaren or Manor I'd go stick a lap in regardless, just in case you end up on pole!

That's what the rulebook says.

However... Damn....

Battered Mercedes for Rosberg there.

Not laughing... Honest. :D

Rosberg didn't even know the wing was damaged?
"We believe you have front wing damage, so box box"
"Is it under the car, or completely gone?"
