**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

Anyone have any experience of costco tyre fitting (Watford) they are doing 2 ps4 225 40 18s for £160 fitted inc everything

I've done Costco in Derby.

They'll put your new tyres on the rear regardless of preference, which is fine, but other than that you'll just be given a completion time of an hour or so and it's just like any other garage.

I had an advisory that my front tyres were deteriorated and starting to crack and perish. They have been on the car since 2013 and the tread is still fine as my wife only does about 6k yearly travelling to/from work. Is it worth changing all 4 tyres at the same time? Looking to add some Goodyear Efficient Grips to it.

Yes, get them all replaced.

Yeah get all 4 done, you can often get a deal on doing 4 at the same time.

These new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S are incredible, mind blowingly good in fact. Been raining non stop the past 2 days I've had them and it's as though its dry!

What are peoples views on the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport? I need to change the Michelin Pilot Supersports on my M240i and was considering trying them, but I'm not sure if they are a bit too track focused. I can't get PS4 S in the correct size, so my options appear to be the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport, Michelin PS4 or the standard fit Michelin Pilot Supersports.

The SuperSports are Goodyears equivalent tyre to the PS4S. The track orientated tyre is the SuperSport R

Just been quoted £178 each by my local to replace a damaged Yokohama Advan Sport 255/35/20. As someone who's never owned tyres this big before it came as a bit of a shock!
Any opinions on the Pirelli P Zero? As these seem to be better value compared to the Yokohama but still what I believe to be a premium tyre?

PZero are complete gash aren't they. Never heard anything positive about them.
What car is this going on? TBH just get the Michelin PS4, or Goodyear F1 if you don't mind replacing it sooner.

No idea, hence why I was after opinions on them. I'm not to clued up on tyres so was looking to potentially save a few quid while not cheaping out on economies. The Michelins are pretty much the same price as the Yoko's if not slightly more.

Going on an A6 Avant

I just got a pair of Michelin PS4s to replace the Michelin Pilot SuperSports on the front of my A6 Avant. I wouldn't consider anything else as you get the extra cost of the Michelins back in the lower wear rate.

Goodyear F1AS5 for the A6 Avant all day long, surely? Should be a bit cheaper than the PS4 and going by the latest tests every bit as good?

3 week old tyre and a nail in it already. :(

Right on the shoulder of the tyre too, so likely no one will attempt to repair it.

I have found the wear rate on the Eagle F1 AS3 to be exceptionally good - I got almost 20k out of the rears of my last set.

34,000 miles (54550km) out of my Michelin Pilot SuperSports on the front of my A6 2.0 TDI. Rears still have 5.6-5.8mm on them. I don't think any other UHP tyre comes close.

The fronts had 1.6-1.8mm across (1.6 in the middle as I ran them a little overinflated when empty)
