Celica t sport (GT) so fwd 17" rims fairly light car, want good handling.
Just got a couple of new Goodyear Eagle F1A2's fitted to the rear. Forgot how crap new tyres are. It just feels horrible to drive at the moment with the DSC cutting in so much. I've only done 150miles so hopefully they'll get better soon.
Looking for two new front tyres, couple of qu's if i buy GY F1A2's do i want the XL or non XL version?
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 215/45 R17 91Y
-Also any other suggestions in the 70 -80 quid price category given that size? Must have good wet grip.
I've just had the exact same tyres fitted on the rear of mine. Did a mini drift pulling out of the end of my road yesterday, then again as I turned onto a motorway sliproad, but since then they seem fine.
I had the 91Y XL's fitted. Think the old tyres were 87Y, but the price difference was negligible, so wasn't bothered.
But the price isn't the reason you choose one load rating over another, you choose the right one for your car! 91 isn't 'better' than 87 unless your car's meant to have 91!![]()
Civic needs 4 new tyres soon. Gonna try Contisport 5 out I think.
F1AS2 have worn well on the front (20k) but they always look a bit flat, so would be good to try something else. 0.5kg a tyre lighter too.
Ordered a set of 595 RSR's today, really interested to see how they hold up especially on track. I know a coupleof people will say iI should've gone for ad08's or R888's but the price difference is just too vast to ignore. Will report back how I get on once I've done a few hundred miles![]()

I hated them on the M3 to be honest, just as bad as the Michelin cups in the wet if not worse and not a patch on the cups in the dry.
Once heated up they worked well mind and are cheap, but I'd take an AD08, Michelin cup, R888 anyday of the 595 RSR, but they might react differently on a FWD Fiesta compared to a RWD M3/911.
Why didn't you go for the Contis?

I'm a huge Eagle F1A2 fan and have never been anything but thoroughly impressed with them but this year it's the CS5/5P thats topping all the tests, with the F1A2 usually 2nd or 3rd. So clearly both are still exceptional.
CS5 are £50 more per set (And I'd end up mixing 5P at the back and 5 at the front, though presumably this isn't an issue?).
