Rather impressed with the CSC7 having now done a few hundred miles on them in both wet and dry. Compared to PS4S on standing water at motorway speeds there is less steering wheel resistance driving over them which aligns with reviews saying aquaplane performance on the PS4S is better as the tread pattern disperses water better, but even it still feels confident in the wet when driving over those kind of surfaces, just minus the sudden steering jolt as you do so with PS4S.

The comfort on the motorway is also better than the PS4S when new, the sidewall is supposed to be stiffer than the PS4S yet feels more compliant at speed.

Grip seems just as excellent.

CSC7 tramlines though, and whilst I now have polybushes (purple+black series), I also found this to be the case when I had CSC6 for one round on the M3 years ago on OEM bushes so this seems to be a Continental thing. PS4S only tramlined on very specific roads whereas CSC7 does it most of the time. Not a huge issue as I'm not too bothered about that, if anything it keeps you more on the ball lol.

High speed stability appears to be just as good as PS4S, though I think the PS4S feels slightly more confident beyond 3 digits which is obviously not relevant for regular driving :p

I also like the slightly rounded sidewall shape vs the flatter looking PS4S sidewall design.

Considering the price vs PS4S, and as long as the tread wear life at least gets close to PS4S, these could be a repeat purchase for me next time round.
 
Do you have some camber on the car outside of normal? people have reported the CSC7 tend to tramline if there is a bit of camber intentionally or unintentionally.

That is my concern. From what I read, the SC7 have terrible wear rates.

Which must be saying something because I got about 8k-9k out of PS4Ss on the rears on my Boxster.
 
I think the lowest mileage I got out of rears on mine with PS4S has been 12k, usually 15-16k and fronts around double that!

If the tread wear is poor again on SC7 then PS4S works out cheaper given the extra mileage.

No idea if it is significant but they do have a reputation for tramlining on "stanced" cars (though that is probably true of a lot of tyres to varying extents in that context).

I went for the Pirellis as the Goodyears have been a little difficult to get hold of.

Hopefully they last a little longer than the Asy 6. If they do, and they're a better tyre, they'll be the new favourite :-)
 
Hi, my first time owning a RWD EV, my tyre pressures are at the recommended amount, but the rear tyres see to be wearing a lot more towards the outside edge. They are 6.5mm ish on the inner portion of the tyre, 6.2mm ish middle and 5.9mm ish on outer portion. Similar differences across the left and right tyres.

Only done 6000 miles, I’m assuming it’s simply down to higher weight + cornering? The fronts are more even and obviously have less wear.

The tyres are non XL.

Just curious if this would be normal wear difference?

Generally that is down to a alignment/geometry issue https://www.researchgate.net/figure...arious-uneven-wear-patterns-24_fig1_328739421

At the expense of complicating things sometimes that can be down to the manufacturer intended tyre pressures which might work with the originally intended tyres not being ideal for the full range of tyres in that profile - and sometimes even with the shipped OE tyres that can be an issue when the OE tyres get changed at some point (manufacturers absolutely can be that feckless when it comes to saving money).

Got the wheel alignment checked again today at a different KwikFit centre. Did that as I was within the 30 day guarantee. I just asked them to check again and let me know if anything was bent or looked worn. Magically all the parameters were Green. Who was correct with the readings only time will tell.

If the second centre is true, the first one did not do the alignment check properly. I don't know if there is any incorrect way to put those devices on the wheel when the check is being performed. Peace of mind for now.
 
I was wondering if you could combine them with the Costco code but Costco isn’t on the list of retailers. I will be needing two new fronts according to my just passed MOT. Well, only one was pinged as an advisory for a worn inside edge but I’m not just changing one. I was considering the Cross Climate 3 Sport but would rather swap all four so will be sticking with the MPS5’s again.

Complete aside but I've become a fan of the mixed silver and black alloy styles - but diamond cut alloys really shouldn't exist - even if you maintain and protect them you'll be lucky to get 3 years before they start peeling badly - but that shouldn't really be the case it is perfectly possible to do that kind of finish if done properly and have it last years just manufacturers being cheap at the customer's expense.
