How does one acquire or search for track tyres?
The likes of black circles, local fitters don’t seem to show any when putting my reg in. Is it a matter of entering the size manually?

You probably need to choose the size. And look at the actual size as a 285 can be very different between a road tyre and track for example a 275 ad09 is wider then a 285 PS4s.

I assume you can still get cashback from them on top of retailer's own discount offers?

Just be careful on that promo if you have 19" wheels as it doesn't cover anything outside of their Classic range on 19". If you want 19"+, Camskill have a retailer-only exclusive offer which does cover it.

You can claim on top of any upfront price promotions but not claim cashback for the Camskill promo and then this on top.

New tyres fitted in today. Gave the DOT codes and other visual branding a check. Oldest new tyre being from 42nd week of 2024. And that is ok imo. My guess is when these franchises put out offers they would normally clear out supposedly old stock. I am not complaining at £154 a corner for the Contis.

Initial Impressions are they are very comfortable and the noise level is very low. Not tested braking as I will give it some miles before (unless circumstances on the road bring out a heavy braking situation).

The Kwik Fit guy mentioned that the rears were very low on tread, about 3-4 mm. Fronts are very good and asked me if I would like to keep them in the boot. I denied and said that they need to be binned. They were new Linglongs and had only done 2.5k miles. Glad to get rid of them. The rears were Road Xs.

Edit: I am aware that new tyres have a shelf life of way more than a year provided they are stored appropriately.

Here's the obligatory new tyre pics..

800+ miles report on the Contis. I am very happy with them. Have gunned it rains in very wet conditions and they gripped like a leech. (Before anyone laughs, the older new Linglongs lost traction slightly in damp conditions).

They car is so composed in corners, braking, very quiet etc. I am never recommending cheap tyres to anyone nor am I getting them in the future.

This has reminded me that I still haven't had my CC2 tyres ordered from Costco fitted yet...

Ordered on 28th February, but booked in for fitting for next Wednesday. At that point, it'll almost be a month since I ordered them

Well, it's a good thing I've not been desperate to fit them this time around.

That’s great to know. Not even sure if it’s worth it as my car is daily first with occasional track.

I which case you need to consider usage. Even a track focused tyre that's legal on the road such a Pilot Sport Cup 2 is going to be pretty terrible at anything below 5'C or in the pouring rain with standing water. Another set of wheels and track tyres might be worth considering but someone said above the Pilot Sport 5 was good on track and is good on the road.
