Updated 2012 F1 Sporting and Technical regulations

Does Alonso have a record of crying down the radio? Yes.

Am I allowed to state that this might be seen as an attempt to stop things like Schumacher blocking Hamilton at Monza happening, or because I dared mention an F1 drivers name in an F1 thread about F1 rules, is that also trolling?

Or is Mr Men just trying to start another argument with Skeeter because that seems to be the cool thing to do now...

And there we go, true to form....

You could mention a driver without being immature :)

• Drivers may no longer leave the track without a justifiable reason, i.e. cutting a chicane on reconnaissance laps or ‘in’ laps to save time and fuel.

Just re read these and noticed this.

Was this happening a lot? And if so.. why is it a problem?

Unless it triggers yellow flags based on GPS sensors or something?

Or in fact if you hadn't mentioned it, this wouldn't have come up. Therefore, your fault not his :D

I wonder if they could implement some sort of pit system during safety car, so that lapped traffic and lead traffic can only pit at different times, thus giving opportunity to pass lapped traffic. If a driver decides not to go in, then it is their fault if they get held up by traffic. Don't Indycar or Nascar do something like this?

One three-day test will be carried out during the season, formerly there were none.

Good to see some in-season testing coming back but shame it won't be here. Hope its in Spain, as it makes it a cheap way to see some F1 cars for a few days :)

Don't think it happened much, but I have noticed yellow flags coming on and off very quickly during practice so guess it much be GPS tracked.

I think Ferrari offered it for free to keep costs down? Something like that. I assume now that its in the regulations the FIA will soon specify where and when it will happen.

Are the pre season tests defined yet?

This. Just ignore moron-class posting and move on to discussing the sport with other people. Or don't post at all, which is now my favourite way of contributing to this subforum.

The no moving back to the racing line thing is ridiculous. How do they decide how long you must remain off the racing line for? Do you have to drive the long way around a corner on the marbles if you step off the racing line to defend?

I can see people now making desperate moves to "defend"...

Trouble is, do they now have to define where the racing line is around the whole track to be able to enforce this? On some long straights there isn't really a 'racing line' to speak of...

Its all a bit, odd.

Each driver takes a different line as well. I guess they will define this using the fabled "GPS data and many more camera angles" as well as the telemetry to see what each driver did.

Can we take bets in the number of penalties the stewards will give out next season?

none unless they want to keep the title close

If it stops the weaving about as we have seen by Lewis in the past then it's all good I guess.

Yeah just Lewis, just like Alonso is the only one to use radio to voice frustrations :)

I don't recall anyone else being done for weaving recently, just Lewis :)
