Upgrade path from Rift S

I imagine it would be blocked by meta if they knew about it
Meta have banned the accounts of some users who bought bargain sealed Quest Pros off eBay, presumably because the headsets were stolen in transit.
Though users who can prove they bought the devices in good faith have managed to get their accounts back. So it is a risk.

Playing with it now. I need light blockers on the bottom!!

You can actually get used to it and it works pretty well without the blinders. Give it a try for a while.

I'm thinking it was deliberate that they didn't ship with a full light blocker so that people would try it.

I do now have the full light blocker (which is extortionately priced) and I find it better for darker games which benefit from the light blocking, and it's way more comfy than the side blinders, as it barely touches your face. The blinders I found put a bit of pressure on the side of my head which wasn't that comfy.

It's also way easier to snap the full blinder on and of than the separate ones. So much so that with my replacement Pro I've not even bothered to unpack the blinders.

I want to get an IR illuminator as I have tried the headset in the dark with my Index lighthouses on, and the lack of anything on my face and the pure black was amazing for immersion, but unfortunately the controllers couldn't track, so I need a proper IR illuminator.

Assume as these are sold as brand new you still get a warranty with Meta?
(can anyone confirm?)

Cheers,
What Does This Warranty Not Cover? This Warranty is limited and not applicable to: (i) normal wear and tear;
(ii) damage caused by misuse, accident (e.g., accidental physical impact, exposure to liquid, food or other
contaminants, etc.), neglect, abuse, improper or unauthorized repair or other modification, tampering, or use with
unsuitable equipment, devices, software, services or other unauthorized third-party item(s); (iii) use not in accordance
with the Product documentation; (iv) commercial use; (v) use in connection with a trade, business or profession; (vi)

vii - I guess not then

Oh well...looks like it only covers a dead pixel etc on opening!
(and as you say not from the bay, although if it's faulty on arrival I'm sure the bay would help you out)...decisions, decisions
