Upgrade Suggestions?

Hi All,

I'm looking to upgrade my Current PC Spec

AMD Ryzen 7 3800x
MSI B450 Gaming Motherboard
16gig DDR4
MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Ti VENTUS XS 6GB Graphics Card

I'm ideally want to replace the motherboard as the Front USB Port On the Bord has stopped working to something like this:

But I'm not sure what GPU to upgrade too what would be a good one to look at? Budget £300-£400ish

Personally though, I'd be more inclined to switch platforms than buy another AM4 board, even if this is not the right option for gaming:

I wouldn't change a mobo to another AM4 due to just a broken usb port. I'd grab a 6700XT. Then same for a core upgrade similar to what Tetras posted.

Could also run an external usb extension cable from back to front, not pretty, but cheaper than a new motherboard.

Your board is pretty new, it should have at least one slot.

Are you sure about that?

I don't know any MSI B450 Gaming motherboard that lacks an M.2 slot. The MSI Gaming Plus and Pro Carbon both have one.

I was going to say if your replacing the motherboard with another AM4 you might as well get the cheapest one like the Gigabyte B550M DS3H and combine with a 5800X3D, couple that with a GPU upgrade (maybe the Sapphire 7800XT Pulse?) that will keep you going for years to come (might also be worth getting 32gb of ram since it's currently dirt cheap).

That could be another option I'm looking at the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X as I mainly do gaming and Video Editing.
I currently have 16gig of ram at present. Was looking at that card too, but looking at the 6800xt?
