Well fast forward a few weeks well like this past Thursday, I took delivery from "E"

MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX Motherboard
AMD Ryzen 7 7700X AM5 Processor
Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5 5200MHz CL40 Desktop Memory - Black
XFX Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB Speedster QICK 319 Core Ed Graphics Card

And I got on with putting them in my case took me sometime to do this but I ran into a red herring.

having prepped the board out from the case i.e inserting CPU and Ram (both went in fine) I placed the board in the case and screwed it down and went for an attempt for an early post by putting like normal the ATX Power and CPU Power and Power Switch from the Panel and likewise "jumping the power pin" as another measure - nothing powered up switched PSU on - nothing!

I double checked cables and CPU still nothing. so did the RMA to "E" Send us some photos of the CPU Socket - We see bent pins on the board so we can't accept it back! - A Total Nightmare.

I got my bank onto this in trying to obtain a refund what I paid for in my motherboard but I may press for more.

I'm taking my motherboard to my local repair shop to help me out and they will put the board under a microscope to get the pins straightened and try for a post - if not Ile be going back to "E" with video evidence showing the action see the photo of the CPU Socket.

Help!

So fast forward a couple of weeks and this past Thursday, I took delivery from "E" on the these new components:

MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX Motherboard
AMD Ryzen 7 7700X AM5 Processor
Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5 5200MHz CL40 Desktop Memory - Black
XFX Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB Speedster QICK 319 Core Ed Graphics Card

I set on in getting them into my case. I prepped the board before hand by inserting correctly the CPU and also the ram and H60 and placed into my case. And attempted for an early post connecting front Power Switch and "Jumping" the power switch via onboard graphics and also plugging ATX Power and CPU- no sign of life. Checked cables and CPU again nothing - so I had reached a red herring.

Assuming this is a dead board.

Contacted "E" for an RMA who told me to send photos of the CPU Socket then Alarm Bells rang - Bent CPU pins ad you can see in the attachment! - And they wouldn't accept it back.

At this point I'm raising a dispute via my bank to get me refunded on this motherboard - and will take this board cpu and ram to my local repair place to get the socket under a microscope to fix the pins and to try and get a post

I have started videoing on my phone any opening of parcels like this where companies could refuse RMA/return if delivered damaged in delivery (or before). Had this with a Z370 board that the manufacturers seal on the box was broken when received, company refused RMA & ended up putting a chargeback on my card to get it resolved (was for full order amount not just the motherboard as bank wouldn't do a partial chargeback). Strangely enough it was also with a company beginning with "E" as well (probably the same one). Never used them since & sent the whole order back after telling them over phone & by email with read receipt on, that if they didn't accept the RMA for it all, then they wouldn't be getting paid for any of it due to banks policy (which they didn't like at all). Later found out that they have a habit of sending boards with bent pins that they have returned to them back out again hoping to blame the customer for it as I wasn't the first person to experience it.

Thanks for your input.

The Board was Brand New - I've ordered another board from "Am" which is due to come soon

Should I ask my bank for a full refund on my account or just the partial refund on the motherboard?
I can RMA the CPU Ram and GPU none the less?

I will wait till the Repair shop say on their judgement and will notify "E" in the first instance.

It was 6 weeks before I done the chargeback & had to really explain the issue to my bank (which talking to them was like talking to an alien most of the time as they did not understand any of the technical terms). In that 6 weeks it was a daily exchange of emails & calls some days trying to get them to take the board back before I used the chargeback as a last resort (do too many of them & bank will then refuse to do it) & I had to take printouts of all communication into my local branch of the bank & pass them onto the Manager to do what they needed to do with them. This was a few years ago now but I do know it wasn't an easy task as used Debit card (don't own credit cards at all). I tried going through Citizen's Advice first (local Trading Standards won't do a thing unless been through them fully first) & was told that it was down to me to prove it was sent faulty in the first place (hence why video opening of any delivery parcels where any chance of being blamed for damage could be done). Maybe the bank were just sick of me trying to get them to sort it out but I would assume it depends on who you speak to at the bank etc to how you go about things. Some banks though will mark it as a fraudulent transaction on your account with chargebacks, so be careful as the company could say that you authorised the payment & it wasn't fraudulent (which at time of placing the order & them delivering the items ordered - even if damaged - wasn't fraudulent). It is a difficult one & I wouldn't just take my personal experience as the best way to go about things as I had to think hard about it all before I did go through with it as a very last resort (it was a £400+ - at the time - ROG motherboard so wasn't going to let that slip). I now only use a couple of companies that I can trust (OCUK is one of them) & sometimes the items are drop-shipped/sent direct from Manufacturer so 9/10 times will get a sealed brand new product even if it is costing me more in the long run, as hassles like this I don't need nowadays.

No the socket was fine and the CPU went in fine.
When I checked the cables and CPU to make sure it was in that's where the clanger happened with me not realizing this.
There was still power to the board in anycase.

Well after doing the RMA back to "E" they wouldn't accept it so I moaned at them.
And someone had got back to me offering me a replacement and RMA which I didn't bother with so I sent all the **** back to them for a refund and buying else where:

So the question I'm looking for something along these lines - I'm intending it for Gaming and Video Editing and also looking for a case looking at the Corsair ones but need ones that support 3 Hard Drives:

AMD Ryzen™ 7 7700X
MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI Motherboard

CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB

Corsair iCUE H100i RGB Elite

Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti or 6700xt?

Any help?

So If opting for this board again aka MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI Motherboard
It only has one PC1 Slot (right at the bottom) I ask this as I have an external sound card and also a USB Card so I'm stumped, what other boards are there?
Bearing in mind I need at least 6 internal sata ports and 6 USB Ports on the Back........
