upgrade thoughts

It's possibly end of life, but Gigabyte hasn't listed that on the website. If you want a guaranteed decent board that is definitely not, then the 990FXA-UD3 is one of the best, but it's about £115.

edit: Looking around it doesn't seem to be available at many places, so they may just be selling off the final stock before it's made EOL. I'd ask ocuk.

edit2:

These are the best lower priced boards, but all a bit more expensive:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD 990FX (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £113.99
1 x Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 AMD 990X (Socket AM3+) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £104.99
1 x MSI 990FXA-GD65 AMD 990 FX (AMD AM3/AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £94.99
Total : £325.37 (includes shipping : £9.50).

You may be able to find one of those three boards cheaper in the offers tomorrow (there's regularly £10 discounts), or by shopping around. Same for the CPU.

If you want to spend less, the MSI you listed first would be ok. The ASRock only has a 4+1 phase design I think, in which case I'd avoid it.

It may be that the 990X boards are being phased out, they're barely any different to the 990FX boards so it's silly to have both.

An EOL board isn't going to explode or anything - but I'd be a bit hesitant as it's at full price and is less likely to get BIOS updates etc.

The £95 MSI one isn't much more - but check tomorrow's prices and fingers crossed.

So to clarify

Fx8320 - around 115
MOBO - around 85 if lucky
Cooler - 35

Total 235

However doomedspeed on another post linked an i5 3750k and mobo for 232.

You could get the MSI 990FX at £80, it could be as low as £70 in a deal.

You can get a decent cooler for £25.

CPU - it's £115 full price, again it could come down to £105 or so.

Watercooling/air is a lot down to taste. You'll get lower temps at high load with water, which will mean better overclocks. Air coolers tend to be quieter than all in one water coolers.

Some air options:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler £29.99
1 x Silverstone Argon SST-AR01 CPU Cooler - 120mm £28.99
1 x Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler £26.99
1 x Thermalright True Spirit 120 REV A [BW] Performance CPU Cooler £24.98
1 x Xigmatek Gaia CPU Cooler £19.99
Total : £141.44 (includes shipping : £8.75).

With a 3570K you may have problems with a Z68 board if you don't have access to a Sandy bridge CPU to update the board's BIOS.

The coolers often have fans that can get very noisy at load. You can replace them with quieter ones, but it's more cost. There's also the pump. Some people are disappointed with the noise it can make even at idle, when a good air cooler can quite literally be silent except at max load. Others don't mind or can't hear it outside the case and prefer the lower temps at load.

Well if i can save £10 On a cooler that is Money towards the Gpu/psu.

Any preference from the Ones listed? the evo is well reviewed.

Stock cooler does the job, though at full load you'll definitely hear it and it'll seriously limit overclocking. It's an option to use that for a while if you want to spend on a cooler later.
