Upgrading to 20"

I really want to change though, I can't see the problem with these Rennen Forged or with the deal I am being offered.

There is no other argument against them other than the fact the are not BBS

If anyone wants to know, I found out I'd have a 4.5% duty on total cost including shipping and insurance, plus the standard 20% VAT. This does bring the price closer to all the other quotes including ACS/BBS/HRE, in fact adding the cost of tyres it makes them all pretty much in the same ballpark. But these are still my favourite.

You are doing the equivalent of putting green, red and blue flashing LED Christmas lights on the front of your 18th century mansion house.

But if it had BBS's then it wouldn't be about the bling?

You yourself said BMW make shocking alloys, so what's wrong with wanting to change them for nice alloys? If the performance is not affected then I see no issue.

Slightly ignorant to suggest only change them to BBS and nothing else.

Quite so.

In the same way that were you to fit some Speedline wheels to your Clio 182, it would be most excellent, yet if you were to fit Ripspeed wheels, it would indeed be all about the bling.

This seems to me to be the same thing - only your credit limit is bigger than the Clio owners :p

Take a step back and look at the photos again, this time removing the requirement for them to look 'Proper wicked' and you will realise that they are horrible wheels which do nothing but make your M5 look more like a 'phat modded' 520d :p

I need to upgrade my car from 18" to 19" soon due to buying some new brakes, gonna need to work out which tyres im going to go for soon.

EDIT: Just noticed it didn't save teh edit I made :S

Anyways, it says the standard RS size is 235/45 and when looking for tyres in that size, it's just a **** take with selection and prices, it going to be much of a difference if I go for 235/35's instead? Which seem to have a better selection of tyres I can chose from.

So Rennen forged are the equivalent to Ripspeed in this analogy? They're hardly "show wheels", ok they might not have the reputation that BBS do but they are lightweight, forged, performance wheels. It's not like I'm going to be throwing on dodgy replicas which will affect the performance, I have been assured these will not hinder the capabilities of the M5 in anyway.

In my opinion, and many more users of this forum, the wheels look amazing. I understand the point that people mod 520d to make them look like other performance cars and such, but I will not be emulating anything, I will simply be giving my car the look I want for it.

NVP I have a question...

are you of Asian descent?
I don't see how this is relevant, and to be honest it kind of made me want to abandon this thread as I found it quite rude.

I'm a 26 year old British male which I think is of more relevance.

I have no idea, surely 1" can't cause too much of an issue. But like I said, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to the mechanics of cars.

Ask any woman they will tell you just how much difference an inch can make ;)

The intention wasn't to be rude, so you can wipe away the tears. The relevance is that I'm curious if you are conforming to the stereotype.

About 50% in your case, right? :p
