US police thread

This is the bit I dont understand.

Yet, in the same article it states that:

Firstly, why in each of these cases does the victim have a history of drugs abuse if they were a 'good person' and good father?

Secondly, how was he going to get his kids back if he was being served with a warrant?

Thirdly, why did he try to drive away?

It's the same thing every time, he didn't do nothing, he was a good boy, he was going to college.

Maybe the only solution is to have black police officers only deal with predominantly black neighbourhoods, and white ones in predominantly white ones.

If there isn't someone of the same race as the perpetrators available, stand down until there is.

The evidence suggests that black cops are at least as likely to use lethal force on non whites as white cops in the US.

Jamaica has over ten times the per capita rate of police involved deaths vs the US.

Strangely there isn't an international movement to address that issue.

BLM supporters are the 'useful idiots' of Marxism being used to undermine western democracies.

This video is as relevant as ever. Someone a few posts back made me think of it by mentioning the police force of a city should roughly represent the make up of the city, which it does in Chicago and yet look at all the issues it has.

News article just says they were serving a search warranty, he drove off and a sheriff deputy shot him.

America is supposed to be the leader of the free World. The shining beacon that everyone looks up to.

Whereas Jamaica has a police system about as competent as the British police in the early 80's, where corruption is rife.

The only people who spout that crap or believe that crap are Americans because they have been told that they are the "land of the brave, home of the free" etc

The only reason they are the leader of the free world is because they meddle in everyones business (when it suits them) and they are historically fantastically wealthy and willing to use that wealth to exert their influence on the rest of the world.

I don't believe it either, but you can still see why lots of non Americans wanted a piece of the "American dream" and emigrated there, or how lots of countries followed their lead (until recently anyway)

People aren't looking to Jamaica the same way, so that's why people might not seem that bothered that per capita, the police in Jamaica kill more people....It's a small Caribbean island with poor infrastructure and lots of issues.

The clue may be in the word "history"...

As in, in the past?

The warrant may have found nothing and may have been based on faulty information, you are maybe aware that you get a search warrant to find evidence and there is often a very good chance you won't find any evidence for the crime you suspect has been done.

You can reform from being a criminal or a drug user, and given in the US people are severely criminalised who may only have ever done small amounts of drugs because apparently having a user amount of drugs on you is a terrible crime worse than many violent ones thanks to it being an easy win for police, prosecutors and politicians (although if you've got access to money and a decent lawyer you could often get it thrown out before being officially charged).

Also charges do not equal convictions and a misdemeanour conviction could be he got caught with some weed and convicted...(a misdemeanor is a low level crime, so either possession of a user amount, or possibly a little more of weed).

Some people seem to think that no matter what any criminal conviction means you're always going to be an active criminal and it justifies anything that happens to that person henceforth.

Indeed so why did he try to drive away?

Just seems like odd behaviour to me. But you're probably right, he was likely a great father.

Are you suggesting that nerve gas would be a good solution to the crime problem or just agreeing that nerve gas would be a quicker and more efficient way of causing death to a large proportion of a city?

Errr lol....
Nerve gas would be a solution to all of the USA.
Neither btw. You sounded fake outraged when I read your reply.
I think the police are under appreciated just now, this would be a brutal and blunt way of showing their value. Plus a lot less black people would die in those 3 days... Am I rite...... Booyahhhhh

I was suspending my fake outrage until I understood what you meant, hence why I asked the question. :) ;)

Yikes - only just recently caught up on a couple of shootings by police - a 13 year old lad, and a 16 year old girl; I think it was the aparent waves of outrage and protesting that caught my eye.

Having seen the footage from both shootings, I really cannot fathom why people are going after the cops  I guess it's just the typical case of acting out of anger, based on a tiny bit of info. But it's clear in both videos, when slowed down, that both victims were armed in the couple of seconds before being shot; the girl was properly going for a stabbing of the other girl in pink, and the lad sadly panicked after tossing his gun (toy or otherwise) and then span to face the officer.

Armchair expert and all that, I really cannot grasp how people can carry on claiming these officers have murdered the victims, when they we clearly guilty - and though neither deserved to die; both gave the officers invovled no other option really - a split second to preserve their/another's life.

With the 13 year old getting shot I had to watch the video about 5 times before giving up as to why the police shot him. The video footage didn't help but imagine being the police officer chasing on foot, knowing they had just shot (I think 8 bullets) at passing cars), seeing he has a gun and then spinning round towards you after fleeing from the officer. This is at 2:30 in the morning, in the dark, chasing on foot.

It's no doubt a tragic incident and at the risk of sounding flippant, you play stupid games you win stupid prizes. What he was doing out on the street at that time with a 21 year old who knows. Where were his parents??
