I really don't see why so many of you get excited about these types of threads.

It's not the best car choice however it only needs a few posts to point that out. The rest should either answer the original question or give realistic alternatives.

So why have you not done that?
 
On a more helpful note,

Id say its a tad on the expensive side at £5.5k

Id say roughly £4800 at most for that. If your heart is set on a corsa (which really isnt that bad as a first car) just shop around and see what the prices are on similar ones, theres bound to be loads around.
