Another freeware app or thing is UBCD4Win (Ultimate Boot CD for Windows)

It does require the user to build the iso them self using their windows xp cd but once the iso is burnt it is extremely valuable for eliminating malware and other nasties from computer systems

GREAT POST - very impressive (and daunting) list - top work mateys.

I clearly didn't read it all so these might be there - but some of my favs are: virtual dub mod (use avs script for wmv/asf), dvd shrink, daemon tools, auto gk, audacity, winff (ffmpeg gui there's a few others though), mplayer clasic hc, vlc, kmplayer, and stardock Icon x

Is there a software (free + working) that would scan your system specs and dowload and install drivers with just few clicks. I would want the new verisions BUT not if they make my computer slower etc?

Manual installation is the best way to update your drivers, then you know exactly what is being updated and with what...
