- Utter turd - OCUK WORST GAME OF THE YEAR

To all the people saying BF4; yes it's been a flawed release but you can't honestly believe it's the worst game of the year can you?

Go check the BF4 thread on the forum and read the posts from people still having issues 2months after release. BF4 was supposed to be one of the main releases for the year. Some people might only buy a handful of games a year, some might have waited ages for BF4 to be released etc etc. It's a shocker of a game considering what it could've been.

Rome Total War 2.

Basically a con from the outset. The graphics and game play shown as 'real game play' in screenshots and videos does not exist, it is impossible to replicate even if you had deep blue.

They removed top features such as 'guard' for no apparent reason whilst maxing out on battle ruining 'capture points' because the AI was so stupid.

The PC game equivalent of being sold a Buggatti Veyron and getting a Sinclair C5. The really should have been taken to court.

To be honest I and others have missed the thread title.

Perhaps we should define our 'worst' and most 'disappointing'.

1. Ashes cricket has to be the worst game of the year on what I have seen on this thread.

2. Most disappointing would then have to be RTW2.

Seriously, I am gonna start a campaign for Ride To Hell: Retribution....Nothing comes close!

Here are a few snips of reviews-

Destructoid

Complete Failure: The lowest of the low. There is no potential, no skill, no depth and no talent. These games have nothing to offer the world, and will die lonely and forgotten.
EGM-
Don’t play Ride to Hell: Retribution. Don’t think about playing it. Don’t think about thinking about playing it. Forget it exists, and continue your life as though it never did.
OXM-

To Deep Silver, I can say only this: how dare you? How dare you charge $29.99 for a game that would be theft at a third of that price? How dare you resurrect a game that should have stayed canceled in 2009? How dare you? Any goodwill you may have earned from customers in your years of existence will be absolutely ruined by the release of this squalid little mutant of a game.

The Zero Punctuation for it is good as well

Tbh, most reviews I could find have too much swearing in them so I couldn't post them, as it is impossible to talk about this game without the red mist descending, and the whole thing degenerating in to a torrent of foul-mouthed abuse!

I don't think I have laughed at a game as much as in the Angry Joe review, when he is talking about how the main character has to get past an electric fence...I had to get it after that!

I remember TotalBiscuit had a lot of fun with it as well.

THE RESULTS ARE IN!!!!

So the awards for the Turdiest (most broken) games of 2013 are:

First place - X-Rebirth
Second Place- a joint second! Rome Total War 2 and BF4 share this
Third place - Aliens: Colonial Marines

Honourable mention goes to The Ashes 2013, while the amount of people who actually seem to have played then voted for it is quite low having to pull a game off sale must require something epically bad. Unfortunately I can't count votes based on the youtube lolvideos.

And now for the most disappointing

First place - Bioshock Infinite
Second place - BF4
Third place - Joint third between Rome Total War 2 and Sim City

No honourable mention for the most disappointing here, however it is clear that a lot of big name games are now broken on release rather than lacking in story or a good conclusion!

For me it was Sim City. I tried to like it I really did!
I fought with the poor release and thanked EA for my free game (for what it was worth)
I poured 100 hours into it believing they would fix it and make it better.
After every update came out, something else was broke. I kept asking myself why were they releasing additional content when the game was so broken....... Please, please, please just fix the game first.

Massive, Massive Disappointment to the point I won't be pre-ordering games again. In fact after the following disappointment with Rome 2, I don't think I will be buying games with in the first couple of weeks of launch anymore either.
