V4 engine?

V4 Twin Turbo, cant see why it would not be doable, but there aint really any point other than to be different, cant see it being cheap or particularly powerful compared to what you could do for the same money to another engine.

(And whilst i'm posting the Carlton ia a 3615cc Straight 6 with a pair of Garrett T25 Turbo's stuck on giving something like 380 Horsies?)

I used to have a 1.7 V4 engine in my first car. It was a Ford Corsair originally made in 1970.
Fairly powerful as it would do 100mph on a good day. I eventually sold it to my boss after 6 years of ownership.

Mine was silver with a black roof, a bit ugly by today's standards but a good wagon back in 1980.

Looking pretty smart, I can see why your boss brought it :) I dont remember most cars looking that good back in the 80's

Is that pic taken in the uk btw?

Honda NR750 had a V4, though it also had oval pistons with two conrods per piston, making it kind of a V8. The cylinders were almost the same shape as a tin of spam.
I'd love to hear one running, never mind ride one.

Yep, mad things with 8 valves per cylinder. Shame there were so many problems with ring sealing and they didn't actualy have much power advantage IIRC.

Heres a more modern V4: click me

Hmm 180 bhp from the 2.0 N/A, 300bhp from the "marine turbo" setup.

Also it's quite interesting what they did to the Street Ka.

Weren't they marketed as the "future of engine development" or something similar at the time?

Cool looking bike too.

Early Saabs had V4's afaik.....Plenty of V5's out there too.

The earliest had 2 cyl 2 strokes based on a German design (DKN?) :) Then 3 cyl 2 strokes. Then the German V4.
