v70 advice

I agree, then screen does seem to angle down quite a lot. It might be an attempt to block out sunlight or maybe it's just for short people! :p

The nav works pretty well, the controls are on the right indicator stalk and are pretty easy to use. You can't enter postcodes, only addresses and streets which is ok. It's as much as can be expected from a <2002 nav unit I guess.

Thanks Burnsy. I will be going to have a look at this over the weekend. Is mid 20's mpg easily achievable on these cars?

I'm just searching through the Volvo forums for a buying guide. Any advice on what else to look for ? I've heard they are pretty bomb proof if looked after, but check for warn drop links, squeaks to suspension. Is there a way to tell if the Autobox is behaving correctly? If i can get a clean example for ~£2,000 i will be very happy.

Yes, I average 26.

I wouldn't be too worried about droplinks, they're pretty cheap to replace. Check all of the electrics and especially the alarm. The alarm has a rechargeable battery inside and these are known to go after a while requiring the unit to be replaced. They are about £100 plus labour. I'm not sure about the autobox, I held out to find a decent manual, but from what I know, they're pretty bombproof too.
