Valkyrie - To the skies! *Sponsored*

Spent my Saturday afternoon doing some aesthetical work on the GPU block from Modultra.

I've used waterbased decals before on models so applying it to this was quite nice though i've come to realise i'm not as steady as i once was with my hands! Still not a bad end result.

you may have already said, what gpu is it for... and when do we get the see the mount

This will be having a ceremonial mating ritual with an RTX 4090 FE.

The mount from what i was last told is being anodised currently so hopefully shipping should happen next week! I’m tempted to post some photos from Modable themselves :p.

I've been using Fusion for a few years now and tbh even now I'm still kinda sculpting with it, mainly because a lot of it is for 3D printing so I can get away with crazy shapes. Also I build directly into Fusion, I rarely sketch anything on paper any more. Get all my measurements, maybe rough out a projection on paper so I have a reference for my initial mental image, but then just realise it in Fusion as I go. I get a good feel for clearances and material thickness when inside a full 3D space that way.

In retrospect I wish I'd designed Asteria II fully in CAD first, a lot of mistakes and reworking would have been avoided, but even though she's still not finished, all the actual metalwork and case remodelling is done, painted and test fit and I'm honestly surprised how well eyeballing and 2D drawings have translated to a real thing.

Ortux: Asteria 3 is fully modelled though, right down to the relief of rivets in the case :P

Couple more photos of the slow progress with this build. Huge thanks to @Ace Modder for doing me the 3D prints, a legend you are good sir ;) :D
Need to do abit more painting and a few more decal allocations to finish off some of the aesthetics i'm going for. Huge thanks to Mayhems Solutions again for sponsoring us with the Coolant on this too :D

that block is something else

After being down in the dumps for what felt like an eternity with a really bad case of chest infection! I'm finally out of the woods and i've managed to complete the project of 2025 which is also my personal rig update for the year!

Proudly presenting the Valkyrie!
