Valve need to make a new gaming engine before they even think about a Half Life 3.

Saying that, I'm guessing Valve will have things in motion now anyway as the new consoles (or well new Xbox) are more than likely to be announced next year.

Not really, Portal still looked great. While it's still using the Source engine it's been modified and expanded well beyond the original engine.

Thats was all knocked on the head when they realised that they just could not do what they promised. The main theory is EP3 is going to be HL3. Either way, I want the end of this chapter of the story!

Only ever heard then talk about Half-Life 2: Episode three coming and being talked about..

Half-life 3 has never even been confirmed or and is till just a pipe dream.. For all we know Half-life might end at HL2-EP3
