Valve trolling?

2011 - hype
2012 - hype
2013 - release date given
2014 - put back
q4 2015 - release

trololol

thats exactly what I was thinking.... since the fail CSGO coming out 2012 -we won't hear anything till end of 2012 for release date. I would say November 2013!

Not really, Portal still looked great. While it's still using the Source engine it's been modified and expanded well beyond the original engine.

There is no way on earth Valve is going to design their new generation games, on the new generation consoles, using the dated Source Engine 1.

I really need to play Half Life 2, I remember Half Life 1 blowing me away, but didn't get around to playing Half life 2!

Yes, you really do!

There is no way on earth Valve is going to design their new generation games on the new generation consoles using the dated Source Engine 1.

Depends how you define a new engine. The Portal 2 engine is like Source engine 7 or something, each new Valve game that comes out updates it in a certain way.

I know Gabe said they have no immediate plans to release a new engine, its easier and cheaper to keep upgrading the constant one.

Eh, whatever. After so much time I can't be hyped one bit until it's officially announced - instant pre-order when that happens.

WORTH THE WEIGHT!

After this long a wait I dont think any of the fans will be satisfied with a game the same length as Episodes 1 or 2.

They've had long enough to pretty much make game of HL2 size.

This makes me :(

Still once whatever the next HL is im 99.9% sure it will be another leap in game design and be pure awesome. I just hope its released in the next couple of years...

Some more rumours. One can only hope this is true.

Valve voice actor working on "Half Life: Episode 3"

Adding further credence to the recent run of Half-Life 3 news stories, OXM has been told by a US-based voice actor that they have recently recorded lines for "Half Life Episode 3".

The structure of the title could be a slip of the tongue rather than outright confirmation of the "episode" tag, which Valve has previously stated it's moving away from. We've requested further clarification from our source.

The company has been determinedly quiet on the subject of the next Half-Life release since the last game arrived in the Orange Box bundle back in 2007. Some time in 2012 would be logical if the company wants to publish on Xbox 360 - given competitor pressure, the next generation Xbox console is unlikely to launch later than 2013. Although let's be honest, PC is Valve's first love, and it can release the next Half-Life without even bothering to talk to retailers thanks to its Steam digital delivery system.

That audio is being recorded might indicate the game is close to completion, as audio roles are generally recorded later in development, after levels, scripts and characters have been thrashed out. Valve's never been one to follow the herd, though. It spent nine years redeveloping Team Fortress 2 before release.
