VAR & Rule Tweaks - 21/22 Season [2024/25 Update]

Can you name the ones that happened last week for most clubs?
Why just last week when this happens all the time for all clubs?

I mean last week Mitrovic acted like a Rhino and got a yellow. Salah was AGAIN man handled in the box and we got nothing. This isnt a Chelsea issue... This is simply an issue. Referees are garbage.

Contentious var decisions? Dale Johnson usually does a pretty good column/tweet thread every Monday morning. Obviously doesn't include our 2 penalty shouts in the game against palace, but bad referring happens every single game ( referees letting time wasting happen every game until a token yellow in the last minute of a game, for example) Here's this week's

Juventus had a 90+min winner disallowed 2 red cards manager or coach sent off too. Var refs only checked players inside the box for offside. A Salarniata player out wide kept everyone on side.

Var is good but the people controlling it need some looking into.

Can't link to video as on phone and getting kids ready but it's on twitter and YouTube.

What's the actual ruling on this as the guy by the corner flag keeps everyone onside (technically)
There's no technically about it, they're onside. The VAR ****ed up by not spotting the guy by the corner flag.

Thankfully there's already a new technology being rolled out which will remove human errors like this. FIFA and UEFA have a semi automated limb tracking system which will be used in the WC and is currently being trialed in the group stages of the PL. It's already being reported that the PL are happy with it and will take it on next season and it's being reported after this **** up that Serie A may adopt it as early as next month.

But surely that fella isn't interfering with play....?

It was a pretty outrageous decision, does VaR only ever take the angles from one specific side of the pitch? There's been quite a few recently where the angle from the other side gives a much clearer view of any offside decision.
Decision in question

What I find interesting about the offside rule is that as a defender you are always considered "in play" but as an attacker, as long as you are not the guy that interacts with the ball you can be offside almost every time without consequence despite in theory making it much harder for the defenders to manage their defending.
