Don't buy the blower card, either snap a Vega up or wait for AIB Navi cards. Why anyone buys these reference blower cards is beyond me. Why knowingly buy a gauranteed inferior built product knowing that improved versions are coming? The early Vega cards were crap, the later ones people have now are fantastic. Navi will go exactly the same way.
Ye but the custom models are gonna start with (optimistically) £50+ higher prices & over a month from now. Reference can still make sense if you have a custom cooler (aio, morpheus etc) or don't mind the noise. The blower cooler can definitely keep the temps down, but it's just noisy.
Depends. For example (last time I checked) Battlefield V does not actually support crossfire. So the Vega will be betterHow does a single Vega 56 compare to my pair of R9 390 8GB's in Crossfire?

I recall my 290x would have been the same or edge out a 1060. Only a 1070 or better was improving games, now I have the Vega its a really good card to upgrade to. Tweak down the power use and slight overclock. It performs on par with a 1070Ti.
I would say crossfire potential out of them would be quite good so not much of a boost, but would be worth trading out for to recoup costs and get substantial power draw and less noise.
V56 has more RAM and so will be the better card long term.Looking at it, the prices of RTX 2060s are starting to level with Vega 56. Given the choice, would you stick with the £250 Vega 56 or choose a similarly priced RTX 2060 6GB?
Not too fussed about noise and power draw so I guess I'll stick with what I have for now! This setup seems to be lasting me a good while. Looked up some benchmarks and it looks like in Crossfire optimised games I have a 20%+ advantage over a single Vega 56, but in games where it isn't supported, performance is perhaps 30% worse.
