VEGA IS FINALLY HERE, ITS IN STOCK ALONG WITH SOME EPIC BUNDLES & FREESYNC DEALS!!

Meh. I'll stick with my rubbish RX 480 that I have to downclock to stop from crashing and switch back to Nvidia come their next release. Compared to the Ryzen release I'm finding the Vega release a bit of a disappointment. Hot, loud, power hungry, not particularly fast or good value.

I would have snapped up one of these card but unfortunately my credit card got blocked due to being used for fraud. If they have sold out that fast can be assured the AIB companies are going to over inflate their prices.

Sorry to hear about your card, and this is all concerningly true.

I was hanging out for Vega 56, thinking it was launching today too (and not getting a reply from anyone *cough*Gibbo*cough* despite replying and tagging directly and asking specific questions, and despite other people having their direct questions that were asked after mine responded to and answered).

Now I'm worried that Vega 56 will launch at £399 on the 28th and sell out instantly, and I've missed my opportunity to get a 64 at launch for only £50 more. I *want* the 56 model, and was hoping for a similar pre-launch discount like was pre-advised on the forums here (£100 off was foretold a couple hours ago). Vega 56 at £349 or £359 would have been an instant purchase for me (and is the appropriate mark for the card, with the gtx1070 back down at that mark).

Gonna be ****** with the whole thing if they launch at £399 and only go up from there, and will probably just look elsewhere for another option frankly. Maybe one of those £330 1070s and forgo FreeSync support, or a used R9 Fury ...

Ahh knew it ...Normal pricing not lasting long ..... Time to jump on the gouge train

How wrong you are, if we carried on at £449 we lose a large amount of money, AMD supported the price for a set amount of units, we have sold beyond the set amount, so now the price is at regular MSRP which is single digit margin.

So not gouge at all, just a company trying to make some money, and if you consider single digit margin gouging, well no pleasing some.

Once again, spoilt for choice - I was pondering upon some of dem there bundles and totally lost track. Hopefully got my order in time! Thanks all the same, Gibbo (and team). Just waiting on some after market water blocks :)

The MSRP for the Vega 64 card inc VAT is about £470 so £450 was a good price. £550 is silly money though. Might as well just buy a GTX 1080. Much better card for not much more cash.

So the MSRP announced at Siggraph
  • AMD Radeon RX Vega 64: $499
You need to sell here now for 549 pounds to make a single digit profit margin ? ... If so you be out of business soon

Yeah its been about as exciting as the release of the RX580 lol

£449 price was decent but thanks to my bank messing me around I missed out. I'm not paying £549 for one, you're welcome to tell AMD to do one at that price - it's a 1080 competitor and as such should be permanently at the £449 price, with aftermarket cards going up from there.

I'll probably get a Fury or Nano.

[Edit] Seems I did get one at the cheaper price but I have to wait. :( not sure if I should cancel or not.

Seemed sneaky. AMD requesting 56 reviews to be prioritised and then giving incentive to buy the 64 asap with no opportunity to research before buying or else get stung with marked up price.
I'm an AMD fan, but that's a bit dirty.
