Vegas Hotels

all those prices are great

I have stayed at Platinum loads, £45 is a great price an I would choose it over Hotel 32 (which is really only a posh floor of the Monte Carlo) every time, hotel 32 will probably have a resort fee to which Pt doesn't

having said that £75 is an awesome price for Bellagio but there will be a resort fee to add to this too, plus if you want the full Bellagio experience you really want a lake view room , Bellagio is still fantastic though

PH is amazing at £30 too and I would choose it over MGM every time, again there will be a resort fee to add

Fox really dont do it.

Its like taking a 1.4 Golf down to the nurburgring. It is really worth paying the extra to stay in a good hotel.

I am a big fan of the trum towers
http://www.trumplv.com/

but Winn / encore is very nice as is the venetian.

FYI you can get the rooms in the MGM very cheap if you join a gambling club and book via them. But to be honest the MGM is crap.

There are also so good discount codes that are sold on ebay

I'm there in March and planning on Winn tbh it's the best one there and you get the rooms over 60th floor and the view is insanely nice. Reasonable prices too. Should book that really...

PH is a winner - as mentioned before this is where I stayed and when we go back again, it'll be where I stay again.

Wynn and Encore are both amazing, I just couldn't live with the location

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but has anyone stayed in the A.ria hotel in Vegas?

My missus and I are going there for a 5 night break in November and wondered what peoples experiences were?

I've stayed at A.ria a few times now and really the hotel. It's a actually a very spacious hotel, and so even on the gaming floor you never feel too crowded like at most of the other casinos on the strip. It just has a really well thought out layout I feel. The rooms are all actually really great, and everything these days is controlled ipad inside. There are a couple of nice bars and places to eat inside too. It has a pretty decent pool, and you're right next door to the cosmopolitan, and you can even jump on the monorail to Bellagio in a couple of minutes.

It's definitely become one of my favourites, and always look to staying there first. I would definitely recommend.

Will be staying at the Ar!a hotel next month. Me and the good lady are going to Vegas to get married. So I will update you about the hotel when I return!

I have read good reviews about the place though it does sit a bit further back from the strip than other hotels. Doesn't bother me too much as I stayed at the MGM Signature last year and that sits behind the MGM Grand. The walk wasn't that bad so I don't expect the Ar!a to be much worse.

I don't find it too hard to get in and out of, but thats just personal preference really I guess. It does sit a little bit further back from the strip, but I actually preferred it that way. I'm in Vegas a few times over the next couple of months, and I'm booked in at A.ria for at least half of the time. I'm going to try the Wynn out too for the first time, as I've always avoided it to date as its just on the opposite side of the strip for my liking, but figured I would give it a shot this time!

Congrats on the wedding Scott88!!

Be interesting to hear some real experiences of the Ar!a for you guys!

On a separate note, I stumbled across a few Youtube videos of the "$20 trick" and wondered if anyone here had tried it or fancied trying it in Vegas?? (put simply you sandwich a folded $20 bill in between your licence and credit card when checking in and say something along the lines of "Do you have any complimentary upgrades available as it's my anniversary/birthday/wedding etc")

It's usually significantly cheaper to fly to Los Angeles instead. Then not only do you pay less, you also avoid the total Zoo that is a direct flight from the UK to Vegas (its full of lads on stag dos) but you also get to do a road trip or through the Mojave desert too, which is cool.

Didnt find that, ive flown both to LA and to Vegas, both were similar times to get through, maybe just was lucky the time I flew direct to Vegas right enough. Had a far worse experience at LA though with my daughters case getting lost.

I loved the **** - thats where I stayed for a week, hotel smelled amazing, the bed was the comfiest I ever slept in, had a great view of the strip too.

Nothing negative to say about it at all. I also did the $20 trick and got upgraded to a better room, told them i was there for my 40th birthday (which I was).

I've stayed at the Ar!a a year or so ago and I was very impressed with the hotel and level of service. :D

I'm wondering whether I'll have the guts to try it to be honest! :o

Ive been trying to buy a bed from **** without the expense of actually importing it, they want $2k to ship it if i buy it from the **** homestore.

Good to know actually - one or two of the reviews on Tripadvisor complain that the beds are too soft!!

I'd also recommend trying to get a room over the 35th floor if you have a strip view.

This is potentially the only "upgrade" for us to be honest - we've booked a "Corner Suite" and from the looks of things the next step up is an Ar!a Sky Suite so a high floor and strip view might be all we can get! (if anything!)

Stevie, it was like sleeping on a cloud of angels, it was amazing.

We also got some chocolates and fizzy wine sent up to our room because of my birthday so its well worth mentioning if its a special occasion. I felt the same way you did about the tip, I thought id look like a plank but I bossed it and they sort you out.

As mentioned previously - I've stayed in most of the hotels in Vegas now - and A.ria is definitely towards the top of my list, and almost always the one I call first to see if they have the availability I need. The beds are probably a little too soft for my liking, but if there is a fault - that would be about the only one I could find.

As for the $20 trick - I've done it a couple of times, sometimes its worked other times it hasn't. In all absolute honesty - I've had more success when just asking about a possible upgrade. Almost every time I've asked without handing over cash I've been given an upgrade. One time I tried the $20 trick, got upgraded and told they couldn't accept the cash regardless. I almost always check in alone or wight he misses, and most off the time I'm in a suit, and I stay in Vegas every couple of months - so I don't know how much this effects upgrades - but I would honestly recommend just being polite, cracking a couple of jokes, and just asking. I've never mentioned birthdays or anything.

Funnily enough - One time I drove to Vegas, the misses and I had a Rolls Royce Phantom for the week (Not mine), we were given VIP treatment from the moment we drove up, got guided in by one of the hotel managers etc - I asked about the possibility of an upgrade, and it was one of the only times I got completely shot down haha. It just goes to show you, I really do think it just depends on availability, and what time you check in. I tend to usually check in later in the day, and so they have more of an idea whats available still I think.

Curiously Metalface Mark - where are you trying to buy the bed from? How much is the bed alone without shipping? (I live in the US) - I'm sure there would be a much cheaper way to ship this out to you - let me know if I can help (I have a great shipping company I use when shipping furniture etc between the UK and US.)
