Views on the Saxo VTS

its not a personal attack its just the way society sees things and generally it does not see things without reason.
for example mx5's are deemd to be hairdressers cars,
saxos are deemed to be owned by chavs,
more recently evos and scoobys have been entering this slot too as the earlier ones have become more affordable to mr chav.

im not saying your a chav but 7/10 saxos i pass in my town have stuck on tat and "wayne loves fiona" plastered across the windscreen. coincidence. of course must be :/

So you're saying I should throw away my 'luke' 'bitch' sunstrip?

I'd say I've seen equal 106 GTI's and Saxo VTS's modified stupidly - i.e. not a lot. It's mainly VTR's that get molested due the low insurance group combined with sporty looks and nippy performance. Peugeot do not have a VTR alternative and this is why they haven't suffered the same fate with the 106.

Westcoast's do my nut in tbh people chav those up no end only for me to point and laugh cause they have drums at the back and gives the game away straight away.

Quite hard to spot when they have vtr wheels and badges on, but the narrow rear track gives it away ;)

I have yet to see a personal attack. Just differing views.

To me the VTS is a good/fun hothatch, underappreciated but with a huge stigma attached. Not my cup of tea I have to be honest and I would never buy/own one if I had a choice.

so there isnt a 106 1.6 rallye which uses the vtr engine........ ok my bad

It is 5 insurance groups higher, less than 1000 were built, it is tuned up with different cams and a different rev limit, it is stripped out so many will find it unsuitiable for a road car and with it having steel wheels and plain paint colours it doesn't appeal to your average boy racer.

Just because it uses the same bottom end and other suspension components it doesnt mean its Peugeots equvilant to the mass produced Saxo VTR, the 106 Rallye is a completely different beast.

Saxo VTS rock the house!

For the dolla they are absolutely spot on, thrashing light-weight fantastic fun!
Forget about the build quality, image & comfort & all that rubish stuff, get this car if you simply love hammering from A to B, it's certainly quite a capable machine.
If I was looking to drop back & save a sack of cash, i'd seriously consider one, bargain.
