It's the vertical view angles that are the real problem on TN screens. Move your head up or down just an inch or two and you'll notice colours at the top and bottom of the screen change. In fact you'll find that wherever you position your head, the top and bottom of the screen will be slightly different colours. Horizontally when you move to about 35-40 degrees either way the screen starts to fade.
It makes watching films rather tricky, since even sat at your desk, every time your head height changes you'll have to readjust your screen tilt, and you never really get it just right. Plus TN screens don't do a deep black, which makes the black bars on widescreen DVDs a bit irritating, since you'll often notice they're a way off from real black, especially in a dark room.
