we'd be in a lot of trouble without the polish, they're pure grafters and the family in this story could do well to take a leaf out of their book. the people in this story are low life. letting their own children sleep in bedding covered in their own faeces? being registered disabled with a bad back which obviously hasn't affected her performance in the bedroom, trashing what would appear to be a nice looking house and getting breakfast delivered to them? i mean what?! how, why, etc

I'm just intrigued to how much spare cash they actually have to spend leisurely per annum!
It's not 1 person being given £100k though is it.
i would bet money that the kids live on a diet that mostly consists of tinned produce on toast, leaving plenty of spare cash for the parents to spend on fags,booze,clothes,luxuries etc
Which is what the current government are going to try and do, if allowed to, and if the treasury will fund it (the changes cannot be made overnight and will not come cheap).
The benefits regime is already being tightened up in certain areas, and work is being done to reform and simplify various employment programs (the New Deal, Pathways To Work, Lone Parent Obligations etc) to simplify things and provide a greater 'push' towards work. The reforms of things like tax credits and benefit payments themselves needs to provide greater incentive too, and work is being done on that.

i'm inclined to agree, although i can imagine there would be a proportion that would sell/exchange their stamps, or even sell the stuff they get with their stamps for drugs/booze etc
Thats not necessarily true, while the benefits system does need a massive shake up, its more down to the people!
Some tenants are brilliant, some are absolutely vile.
My dad rents a house out, and the last tenant was an Irish mother with 2-3 kids, they left the house in a complete state, broken basically every door and cupboard in the property. Every wall needed repair. They set a fire outside in the garage, which we locked and didn't come under the agreement of the tenancy.
Now we have a few Lithuanian men living in there, absolutely brilliant people, they even took it upon themselves to sort the garage out as they wanted to use it
They could have had names on them and then the person has to show ID to redeem them?
Aka you couldn't sell them. Could still sell the stuff though. But then again, it wouldn't be much to sell if you are living of stamps.

Am i the only one who thinks that they purposefully destroyed the house?
They were obviously expecting people to be coming around to look at the property so why not scruff it up a bit (or a lot).
Then Yay we get another Free house and plenty of spending dosh to go with it.

tbh they'd go for a more lucrative form of income should they not be able to make enough from the stuff they sold from the stamps, i.e. dealing of some kind
Agreed - when you used to get milk token for kids (back in the day) I can remember people taking them into the local corner shop and getting cigs/booze etc for them.
Giving these people stamps instead of money would not work as I said above there will always be someone who is willing to take them in trade for other goods (cigs/booze etc at probably something like 50p in the pound), as the shop-keepers will still get re-reimbursed for them.

Well if the houses are such a state then take the kids and put them into care. Stick the pair of them in a 1 bed flat and make him clean for a living. If she is well enough to have that many kids then she is not disabled!!!
I do love how the mail misses no oppurtunity to insult the family. (I genuinely do, no sarcasm, it's nice to see such scroungers insulted publicly). Normally it's daily fail, but top marks for including as many insults as they could fit into the article
