Send me your addy in dm. I suspect they would be called a mounting gromit but who knows. Also not all the pads have them I'm not even sure they make that much of a difference when it's all back together. Even some pads of the same model, some have em, some don't.

8 of these came... I normally don't grab one S but at 15 each for 500gb and 20 each for the 1tb models it's worth fixing em up. The cleaned up one was the first of the 8..

No power at all one was fun! Had to dig around loads but eventually found a little 5v regulator that had a short on an output. Swapped it out from a donor board and....

Well I measured all of the inductors (good place to start) and they all looked good checked 12v rail, all good. Standby voltages were all present... So it was a secondary voltage rail. So I then had a little measure around on rails that would be activated on boot weirdly that buck was one of the first things I measured
I measured a 10ohm reading on an output cap, compared that against a donor and it should have been 25k. Pulled the chip, wacked a new one on. As soon as I popped in power and the fan did a little dance, I knew, I knew we were golden
Just testing all the main power rails for shorts etc was all done without power then I put the bench supply to it to check standby power and probed all the standby rails. When they were all present I removed power and went hunting for shorts on the secondary rails. Seems to work quite well.
Fixed a beep on beep off last night with the help of my thermal cam. Put thermal cam on, pressed buttons lots and see what heated up, only one thing on the board was activating which was an on semi pmic, swapped that out and we had life!!
One thing I keep wondering with these, you see in this image the restart button is red, well, commonly you see this in green but I've had consoles where it's blue, red, orange, pink (a project Scorpio), and a few other colours. Nowhere is there any documentation as to what the colours actually mean. If it's red all the load bars etc will all be red.
This is showing a 106 error as no HDD or CD drive were connected so once I put it back together tonight we will be hot to trot.
Fwiw that was the last one, all 8 machines are now up and running.

Common fault with them, there are 2 little microswitches one on each button. Pretty easy to swap out. Can't remember the exact switches to use but can remember them being cheap.

At this point I won't be shocked if the tracking is bs & it goes "missing" in the post. I hope it does it make it to you though and that it actually works
It took them a full 3 weeks in testing apparently so it better work
at the end I'll do you a screenshot of my mailbox and the total number of emails exchanged. It's a lot. I told them my address no less than 6 times during this ordeal after they requested it filling out the same information repeatedly so I'm fairly sure they know where I live now. They did it via FedEx on the way out there. It looks like they have sent it back via some obscure courier I've never heard of.In fact let me show you:

I think I have lost some emails i sent at the beginning but they are in the email strings. I also got my number of months wrong, its been 159 days so far or 5 months and 8 days. During that time about 70 or so emails have been exchanged

Ok so that tracking website is showing a royal mail tracking number. I put it into the royal mail website and its showing a tracked 48 service. Tracked 48 from china? We shall see... I'm not convinced.
Could the device already be somewhere back here in the uk? I mean who knows at this point. Ill give it a week or so and see what happens. It doesnt look overly promising when i paid the 250 or whatever $ it was up front because they demanded fedex service which they told me was for shipping and return shipping.
The device was in beautiful condition when it was sent as well lets see if 1) it ever comes back 2) it is even the same device and is fixed 3) What condition its in after 5 odd months being seemingly passed about.

Its probably going to have to go but I kinda feel bad selling it as if anything ever goes wrong its 1) going to cost the earth to sort 2) will take a lifetime being sorted.
There isn't really an up side to them. It's not like they are even cheap to offset it.

Funnily enough I've spent some of yesterday and this afternoon trying to rescue an old Dualshock 4 (2019 but never realised it had drift from new, so pretty immaculate) but with no success. Was planning to solder in Gulikit TMR modules but for whatever reason; my lack of skills, or equipment I've struggled to remove the sticks from the board. Also had an older broken V4 Dualshock but I think I ruined that too. I think I'd be OK at soldering but removing existing parts is seemingly beyond me. Did watch a few Youtube videos but didn't change the end result.
So for now my adventures in trying to fit Hall Effect sticks is over. Also didn't realised how hard it is to find new, official Dualshock 4 controllers. Sony has quietly discontinued them and the usual places are rampant with fakes.

My station is pretty expensive but I did years on a cheap 858d clone that was about £25 from china. I'm now using an Atten ST-862D which is a brilliant bit of kit. I use that to get the old stock out and just my iron and pump to clean up the holes. I did a video a few pages back on how to do it with a cheap pump and basic tools though.
PS5 pad boards are pretty thick so can take a bit of heat so you can work at 420c to 450c on them.
