Sorry my post was meant to point out how NAFF that test is. I'm on 10mb (for definate) yet that test seems to present miraculous download speeds which I know for a fact are wrong.

Try using http://gamefiles.blueyonder.co.uk

i dont know about NTL but with TW every upgrade we had I maxed out my download, now on 20mb im getting about 1800kb I know its not as bad as some others but a 20meg service that runs a 15meg then is cut to 5meg between 4-12 its gonna work out to be overall close to or less then 10meg I had and I would rather have then this f'ed up service. My m8 a few roads away is getting between 1-3meg.

Hahahha. Oh god, I remember getting kicked from an ISP. Can't remember their name now, but apparently I used it too much :D

I also get capped to 5mb during 4pm and 1am and about 8mb over the weekend. I would rather have my 10mb connection back as that was a lot better than this :(

When I phoned them last week and said to them is this due to you capping the serive and they man said "cap... errr... let me ask my manager"... 5 minutes later "my manager said we don't have caps". I laughed and cancelled my service lol.

Good luck everyone :)

No joking, and today when I got home from work about 5 ish it was even worse than yesterdays speeds. I've tried the obvious like connecting the modem directly to my pc and it's still the same.

The trouble is I can't face 30mins plus trying to get through to VM, I've just spent 45mins doing battle with comet and can't face anymore tonight :(

I'll try tomorrow afternoon when I get back from the midlands and if it's still the same I'll get on the blower to VM then.

after all this now they charge for tech support not local rate but 0906 what a **** take

I think im getting traffic shaped even though im not downloading anything, during the daytime my speeds are around 512kb/sec but after 12-1am they go back up to 20mb.

this upgrade seems to really suck, when on the 10mb i have full speed all the time, it was never slow, right now i'm getting about 7.5m, newsgroups etc are slow.

are you people who are all getting slow speeds using it during peak or off peak times.

I've given up getting 10 meg out of mine during peak times and just download during off peak.

Although I was trying to play quake wars last night and I kept getting booted from servers due to my dodgy connection.

Just a quick update, after a call to VM customer services then 16mins at 25p a minute   and a call back from tech support they've decided to escalate an incident with the engineers, fingers crossed I might get some improvement in the next couple of days, I really hope it do as earlier on I was getting quicker uploading than downloading. :(

Is there any Virgin page etc that tells you if/when your area will get the upgrade? I'm in Stoke and I've not noticed any speed differences today?
