Has anyone tried to successfully "add on" APs to a HH in order to strengthen signal around the house? I've been given a few APs from work as we recently re-did all of our WiFi so it would be nice to have the added oomph from these APs.

Of course. How you do it depends on which access points you’re using though.

You obv do not know what I am talking about then, the HUB 4 lets you bond the ports in Modem and Router Mode and since the last FW update it does not revert after X time.

How do you think VM did their recent 2.2Gb/s Trial on the HUB4 (hence the FW update)!

Yeah I've just been reading up on that, I had no idea. It seems you need a device that supports balance-rr so it isn't as simple as using anything supporting standard LAGs. It seems that Mikrotik devices do support balance-rr and of course a Linux box would too.

On a separate note, I received a Hub 4 despite only ordering 500Mb. I had read of this happening in areas with high utilisation but I didn't know what the actual technical reason was, but after doing some digging it seems that the Hub 3 only supports 24 downstream channels whereas the Hub 4 supports 32. I haven't seen a Hub 3 to check but my 4 has indeed locked on to 32 downstream channels so I guess that's the reason. It seems to be working ok so far, although the logs do show an occasional message:

RNG-RSP CCAP Commanded Power Exceeds Value Corresponding to the Top of the DRW

Doesn't sound great, but I've had no speed problems and it's only cropping up in the logs once every 3 days or so.

You get a HUB 4 as it has more channels available to you so will help in high util areas, I am not sure you will get the 3.1 channel though, they will all be 3.0.

I checked last week/ 2week max ago and 1Gb/s was same price as 500Mb/s!!!

Yes you get the 3.1 channel on 1Gb/s but VM claim you cannot get full speed without it but I did weeks ago when it was missing the 3.1 channel for 4 days due to area fault (I assume).

Ahhhh the whole balance-rr thing sucks. My router does have a single 2.5g port that can be configured for WAN or LAN so I just need something to bridge that with the SH4 and the something needs balance-rr. I don’t want a pizza box or anything that’s overkill though.

Not sure if it's just the Hub 4 but my ping is much more stable on Gig1 as well. If I ran a ping -t command before I would see 10ms variations over one or two minutes, it's now 1-2ms differences.

Just wanted to check if anyone was using the TP Link Archer AX6600 on the M500 package and how it's worked out for you. Currently using a Netgear Nighthawk R8000 x6 and getting sick of performance degrading with every firmware update.

I advise you take/follow your own advise, I know the HUB 4 has 1 Gb/ports (I have had one over a year) and I also know others have ran it at 1200+Mb/s via Bonding so why not read the links provided instead of being a smartass.

@Rainmaker What's your take on all of this? Can you suggest anything I can do to take full advantage of my connection without going nuts on network equipment? You've built your own router right? Did you set up the aggregation stuff?
It seems nuts that VM are selling a service where 20% of the service is immediately lost because the ports on their router are too slow.
