The VM hub 4 ports are still 1Gb annoyingly, so not much point using a 3rd party router for that particular reason, as you can't get that extra ~200Mb still (VM Gig1 profile allows around 1100Mbps).

VM users we need a Hub 5 or no way of achieving over 940Mb odd. Unless you start spending big bucks on routers that can do port aggregation.
Can't I use my own router /modem?

I'm create a 10gb lan on my home

Quality thanks.

Thats good to know and i will be getting the 1gb as i am use to that speed on my current flat i live in. we have hyperoptic
Yeah, once you get used to a speed it is hard to go back. I was happy with my 100 meg line, but now that I am used to 380meg I don’t want to go back :p

Are you in a flat that is a converted house or are you in a flat that is a larger block? The FTTP rollouts don't really apply that much if you're a larger block and you'll have more luck getting registered with Hyperoptic or Community Fibre and having them install. If none of those providers are available then you might have wayleave issues which aren't going to fix themselves and you will have to get your managing agent involved and ask them why they are being obstructive.
It's a converted house , theres flats A and B, A (where i live) is the ground floor and B is the first floor and a loft extension. On royal mail address checker it shows up as flat 1 and flat 2

We have a business line because my mrs needs a fixed IP address, I really regret going business as this router has been garbage, it constantly loses the plot and doesn’t let you log in, you need to reboot it by unplugging it at least once a week.

Is it maybe just a dodgy router or is this common?

She did contact them but they were as useful as the router.

What benefits does the business tier have besides a fixed ip address (which I would like to have as well)

Gig1 standalone for £34pm, really? That seems bizarrely cheap... Any special reason you managed it that cheap? :p

I'll remember that come my renewal in October...
They offered it to me for £42 after I cancelled the Ultimate Oomph package. Already had BT installed so left it.

25 minutes and counting in trying to cancel the VM service. So far I'm at a "you can't cancel as we are upgrading phone services in your area" which isn't my problem...

45 minutes in...

53 minutes and we are cancelled!
