Wow, where are you? Certainly not near me that's for sure! :p

Mines been really good for the last few days, bit of packet loss this afternoon though :(

Yea mines been pretty tidy since about last thursday, as I said though, it's blatantly because the students are away and it will be back to it's old terrible state in Jan.

I'm enjoying it whilst it lasts though :D

As a student from Brighton, I apologise, but we go through the same thing as well :p

Mine has had some issues recently that I've never had before. Had 2 times where it's been down for several hours due to "local issues" and I'm starting to see high pings and packet loss... this best not be a sign of things to come!

Well my 50mb was meant to be installed yesterday, but it had been pushed back a week, so this next wednesday it is...

Watching what you guys you post to see what to expect, heres what my connection looks like now on 10mbps,

Hoping to see a big improvement on wednesday! i'll make sure to post an update, let the waiting continue

Yeh its bad... I really hope it doesn't reflect of what to expect with 50mb, but i shall see, I would love to be able to just watch youtube smoothly.

Just got myself a 2tb external drive too preparing for wednesday :D

Unless you are using a superhub already you will connect to a completely different CMTS as you will shift from DOCSIS1 to DOCSIS3

If you are having an engineer come out, its very likely your 10mb is old the old network and they will switch you to the new DOCSIS 3 network for 50mb. There is a decent chance the new network will be much better in your area, especially as its the only one being 'actively' upgraded anymore.

Then again, it might still be terrible...

I'm waiting on a new pull through from the pit to our house. Whenever the house phone rings or Internet drops and needs a modem reboot.

IF that gets sorted I may jump up to 100meg. The problem is we are thinking of moving and if its inot a non cable area we may have to settle for 20 meg. coming from 50 meg might not be so bad but a drop from 100 meg. ouchy

depends if you have a solid 50mb now, going from crappy 50mb to solid 20mb wont be so bad, i'd be happy with a slower connection if it didnt lag like hell most of the day
