Virgin Media Discussion Thread

No monthly cost apparently, 'just' the one off £100 or £50 depending on which package you have.

Oh, that's good. My contracts up in January so I will be doing the usual having to cancel to get it cheaper dance.

Will see what I can get. All I really want is BT sport and 50mb BB and a phone. BT seems pricey on the current packages, shall see!

Have they actually updated the software at all?

Or they hoping the hardware will sort out the slow and crap navigation?

The rental page looks like they ripped the FireTV UI and made it purple. I've only been with Virgin for 5-6 months but my TiVo is slow as a dog. All I want is something that I can navigate through easily and shows my flippin' favourites list when I load the TV guide

My congestion fault has been getting pushed back for almost 2 years and got an email today saying it has been resolved.

I'm still in shock :p

New hardware is apparently much faster for the UI. Even on my old Tivo, the new software they pushed out a couple of weeks back is much faster.

when i switched from the old hd box to the tivo one, tivo "seemed" faster but as the updates rolled on the damn thing got slower and slower i wouldnt be suprised after a year or so the new box will be bogged down as well

According to the "doublespeed" site, my postcode is now upgrade complete. I'm already on 200Mbits, so was expecting the upload speed to go from the paltry 12Mbits to 20? Looking at Operational config in the SuperHub v2 page, it's still set to 12.

Is the Hub v3 worth requesting? I notice it boasts 24 bonded downstream channels, and 8x upstream. The Hub v2 only supports 8x down and 4x up (for me right now, 2x up are active and 8x down). My v2 is set to modem only mode.

12mb is the correct upload speed for the normal 200mb, it's only the more expensive 'gamer' 200mb package that gets 20mb upload.

Here is mine.
