Virgin Media Discussion Thread

I just renewed my Virgin Media, £30 for 150mb.
They've thrown in the Superhub 3, are the reports of it being appalling true?

I do game online a bit, so if it's better keeping my Superhub 2 then I'll do that instead
If you have time look through a few TBM graphs that proliferate this thread and you will see that you will be much better of keeping your SH2. ;)

Just signed up for 300Mb/20Mb and I HAVE to use the SH3...

Not looking forward to that... but the 20Mb upload was too tempting :D

Is the SH3 any better in modem only mode?

from what i read there was/are a lot of latency problems with it in modem mode and they were awaiting a firmware update to fix it

I currently have the original Superhub 1 in modem mode connected to my
Asus RT-AC66U 802.11ac router which doesn't give me any problems. However VM have just upgraded me from 100mb to 150m + Superhub 3 and V6 box. I got the new equipment today but not plugged it in and after reading comments about the SH3 I wonder if I should! Should I stick with my current setup or use the new SH3?

Lol your name :D
Anyway stick with your SH1 for now. If you can get 150Mbps on it just stick with it. SH3 causes increased latency. I mean the SH3 is fine for through put but increases latency so anything latency dependant will fall like gaming.
