Had a lot of midwives and health workers visiting for our new son. Why do they think its satisfactory to rock on in with cream carpets with there shoes Harrow! Fortunately I politely request that they remove.

This gripe anyone else?

For new visitors i generally inform them whilst letting them in that they leave there shoes in the shoe area by the front door.

If they are not happy removing their shoes, get some shoe covers that's why i done, didn't want my daughter picking stuff up from the floor.

Yeah they should feel free to trample over my £25 a square yard carpet in the shoes that were not 10 seconds ago traipsing through the worlds crap to get to my front door.

Wait you have expensive cream carpets with a new baby wait till it vomits and draws all over them. Then people leaving their shoes on will seem ok :D

Why on earth would you get a cream carpet? Did it not occur to you people might walk on it?

Besides now you have a baby. In 6 months it won't be cream coloured. it will be "Anything the baby can grab or puke up" coloured :D

saying that i have a black fabric sofa with wax crayons on it, and my daughter thinks thats funny

It's rented ;)

Where on earth did you find somewhere that rents out carpets?

Seriously though, congratulations on your son (more to your partner than you, she did the work:P), but in 6 months walking on the carpet will be a total non issue.

Good luck with the baby... We have laminate ;)

OP clearly isn't getting enough sleep :)

We bought a carpet cleaning 6 months before my daughter was born and all I can say is it makes for stress free parenting! She can spill what she likes, suggest the OP considers this :)

Just wish we could have laminated it but didn't have the money (large room, carpet cleaner can do entire house and furnishings etc.)

clean your drive , path , road

Yes because thats the answer to the question "how to stop people peddling crap across your nice carpets".

I suppose the answer to getting people to stop picking their nose is cutting their fingers off, and not telling the dirty tarts to pack it in.

I always get people to take their shoes off if they come into my house.

Don't see the issue here.

It's your house, your rules.
