grr its downloading nicely at 1.1meg then after a few minutes it keeps throwing up errors saying its lost connection. Anyone else getting this?

Getting that on my server, it goes 1.1mb/s++ and then looses connection.

Maybe they have some kind of cap? I'm just gonna download straight from MS onto my home PC now though, I would get a faster connection putting it on my server first, but it keeps loosing connection :(

Does this Akamai Download Manager need a port forwarding or something? It won't make a connection.

Also the x64 link is only 13.7 megs for me too. Not sure how big the other link is since it won't connect. And I'm not on NTL.

I had that problem, use a manager like download accelerator premium, it always maxes out my connection for nearly every download and you can just continue the download another day, added to that it searches for other websites that have the same file and connects to them as well.

Seems the servers are being ******* around left, right and centre atm. This Akamamamai manager is odd - it's showing a transfer rate figure of xxxKB/sec except my bandwidth monitor on my samurize sidebar is showing no data throughput at all.

Flashget seems to download 20mb of the iso and then stops prematurely for some reason.

my speeds never dropped below 550kb/s when i downloaded it from the official site. i used my own download manager though (net transport). just installing it in vmware now.

Anyone got a link to request a product key? I've got it downloaded but can't seem to find where to get a key.

Ok no need, found viable link
To get a Product Key:
-Head to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview.mspx
-Scroll down to Download Now
-Select your Country
-Sign in to Microsoft Live
-Receive up to two keys, each are good for one year and can be used on up to 10 different PC’s.

SATA bug??

Wtf, what have they done now?

Its affected me for the previous 2 builds, not sure about any others, if you're installing onto NForce4 SATA, doesn't matter if it's RAID or not, some people will not be able to even start the installation. The installer bombs out the instant you select your language with a window "Setup could not get information about the disks on your computer", you don't reach any point where you can install drivers for the SATA or choose a disk so there's no way around it. Even if you install through XP (doesn't seem possible with the new ISO's released yesterday, corrupted autorun.dll) and install the relevant SATA drivers, it still comes up with exactly the same error message when your system reboots.

Well I'm going to have to download the ISO for a second time as though I managed to create a bootable Vista DVD it throws up a bad image error once it tries to install.

AAAGGHHHH!

Don't install it through XP, reboot and boot from the DVD, for some reason these images don't seem to want to run in XP (bad image, corrupt autorun.dll etc).

Thats what I was doing, it goes so far as taking the product key then fails with image error.
