Still getting stutters in Media centre & TV playback.

Playback was fine with pre RC1 releases, maybe it's the drivers or codecs though.

Haven't seen that before,

However now when I run Utorrent the computer reboots at random times, doesn't appear to reboot unless Utorrent is open.

Media playback is fine here in Media player and Media Center.

Only drivers I needed to install with my spec(below) were the NV and XFI ones, everything else worked with no problems (including intel raid )

First impressions are very good, nice and smooth.

w3bbo you have installed XFi you say? Do they work fully .i.e ingame? COD2 BF2/2142 if you have them?

Can't get EAX to work in COD2 or Ultra sound in BF2/2142 :rolleyes:

Hardware support for DirectSound 3D has been removed in Vista - so there's no EAX for any games that use DirectSound:

OpenAL is the future, so when Creative pull their fingers out and finish the drivers you should get hardware sound in BF2, at least.

Not installed any games as yet. I still have XP as my 'main' OS with all the games in there. I'll probably use Vista as an office/net based
machine for the time being until I am satisfied that its a stable enough platform for gaming.

only thing that disapoints me with the interface is that imo it would be cool to see a animation when you restore, and maxamise a window

seems a bit odd that theres one to minimize one, and not to restore

Anyone tried Office 2007 in Vista yet? looks very pretty

I get maximize and minimize and restore animations, dunno whats going on with your setup.

This is on a dv5157eu lappy ati 200m based graphics, runs aero quite nice. but mine has dedicated 128mb ram not pooled from sys ram

Torrents should still be up, Microsoft have pulled RC2 though. I have no idea why.

Just installed Vista RC2 (grabbed it yesterday, just in time!) and its great! Aero would not work at first but the registry hack from page 5 worked (thanks who ever that was) - Time to see if I can do a full weeks work on Vista alone, does anyone know if HP have released any printer drivers for vista yet?

I just cannot stand the new explorer windows. There seems to be too much information going on which clutters it. Font size could be a bit bigger.

Is there any way you can get rid of the favourites bit at the top left? I much prefer the all folder view.
