Creative drivers installed perfectly but EAX isn't working in BF2/2142 (ultra) nor EAX3 in COD2.......??? I have an XFi Xtreme card!

Anyone know a work round per chance? ;)

Hey all,

Not keen on doing an upgrade in case anything goes wrong. So instead I want to install vista onto a separate hard drive (D:\) and not touch my Xp installation on C:\. Is this possible? Normally I'd just use dos and install it by booting the CD but you can't do that with RC2 to my knowledge.

Any guidance would be great. Thanks.

If you already have a hdd called D:\.

Just boot up of the cd and install it. It'll automatically create a dual boot login screen. If you only have 1hdd and want to split it into 2 drives, you need a 3rd party software and do it from within xp.

Been using it all this morning and i can not wait to get this over XP, everything just seems to be working, smooth, fast and games are amazing, getting some VERY good FPS in games.

Couple of problems i've had is mainly down to lazy dev's from other companies not producing new versions for vista. But that should be fixed when we migrate.

But as always Firefox 2 > IE7

I think the most exciting thing is the prospect of seeing some really nice GUIs on upcoming Vista apps, providing they use the Windows Presentation Foundation.

Well i have been using Vista RC2 all day and so far the only thing that hasn't worked in BF 2142 but that is no big surprise!

I haven't tried any AV yet or logitech drivers.

one positive thing i've noticed as well is it's memory handling. In xp I used to open up quite a view very high rez pictures in firefox and after say 10 tabs it would get really slow in firefox. In vista however i haven't noticed this slow down at all, if anything it's slightly smoother.

Only down thing so far is vista starting up, seems to take an age to do so but thats no biggy.

Has anyone got a 9600 running with Aero?

I've used the same system for the past umpteen beta's with no problems running Aero, but now I can't select it from the Personalize desktop settings.

Any ideas?

Can you use the same product key for 32-bit and 64-bit? I have RC1 32-bit installed but am currently downloading 64-bit RC2.

Yes read one of my previous post about Aero and RC2, you need to make a registry edit.

Its ALIVE!!!!!

....Vista RC2 works with 7950GX2.

Only drivers I needed to install with my spec(below) were the NV and XFI ones, everything else worked with no problems (including intel raid  )

First impressions are very good, nice and smooth.
