Vista RC2 Released

I just cannot stand the new explorer windows. There seems to be too much information going on which clutters it. Font size could be a bit bigger.

Is there any way you can get rid of the favourites bit at the top left? I much prefer the all folder view.
Clutter? I think the new explorer is fantastic, much easier to organised and manage you files/media etc... You will soon get used to it and grow to love it. :)

yep, I hated vista at first, a day of solid messing around and im now a convert. but mind you I havent tried installing all my favorite games and apps, guess thats when the swearing starts :p

Really is very nice once you get your head around the changes.

anyone got a problem with the explorer windos not remembering your preferences? For exmple one folder I might set it to display the files as a list, and in another i'll set it to details or medium icons. Now when I jump back to the previous one the setting sin there have now changed as well as most of the other folders. seems to change the control pan view as well.

Are any of you guys running Vista with 3rd party AV and firewall, if you guys are, what AV and firewall will work with Vista?

Live OneCare Beta 1.5 was released yesterday and that supports Vista (x86)

I think when you set a Window's position and display, you need to choose File > Exit to save the preferences. If you just click the close button, it won't remember.

whats up with the RC2 links? everytime i go on a link to download the iso it just redirects me to the vista page on the microsoft website??

this happenin to anyone else?

seems they have removed them, think they reliased that they are giving away a pretty finished top of the range OS for free.

Guess they want some peopl eto atcually buy the thing :D

that sucks, i started downloading it yesterdya, got my cd key etc. then had to stop the download so i could restart my comp (was just using the download manager in firefox), come back to restart it and i cant get on any of them

EDIT: also i thought the keys expired when the actual version came out? so its not like they'd loose out on much by lettin people download RC2

The RC2 download window has closed m8. It was only available for a few days.

Got my vista off usenet yesterday, used my official key with it.

Been playing all afternoon with it, very nice indeed.

Couldnt get my logitech cam working despite someones work around that they posted installing the drivers in 32 bit sp2 mode. was a pro 4000 cam.

My netgear wg111t dongle worked fine though :)

Does anyone know if RC2 suffers the same problem with the installation hanging like RC1 did when using a 7950 GX2 gfx card?
I had to borrow a old Nvidia card off my mate to get through the installation for RC1, then it was fine once it was loaded with my GX2 back in.

Any ideas?

Anyone got COD2 installed on RC2??

I treid and got an error say ing it wasn't compatible with that version of Vista??

Even though it works fine (other than EAX sound) on RC1?

Can someone confirm please?
