Hmmm I'm a tad puzzled, got Vista Home Premium English UK version on here and I've still not seen hide nor hair of the SP1 download on Windows Update, has it been released for the English UK versions of Vista yet ? or is my windows update on the blink ? Any suggestions chaps.
Mine is a UK version (at least I think it is as it came with a UK spec laptop) and it only appeared for me last night after hitting 'check for updates' a few times.

thanks for the link mate ill install that straight away on my laptop
I’ve seen it install fine on "dodgy" 32 and 64bit oem copies that are activated by the bios. My laptop's shipped install of vista is so screwed it simply won’t take the update
vista 32 ultimate sp1 wont be out till early to mid april so i have read well thats for the windows update but i got the standalone exe from windows and let that install and works a treat here Still wont show my true cpu clock speed thou

32bit Vista will show 4GBs with SP1 but its entirely cosmetic, SP1 doesn't allow it to use that RAM that didn't show before SP1.

Finally managed to get SP1 instaled on mine, had to do a clean install, followed by mobo drivers, then the SP1 stand-alone disc. Even doing it this way it took 5 attempts to do it, but I have to admit that the failures were due to my known-to-be-faulty RAM.
It's also now running 5-8deg cooler at idle than it was on XP, for some strange reason.

Slightly odd question but after installing the intergrated vista sp1(msdn/technet) are the 3 prestage windows updates meant to show up as being installed(21/01/08) under installed updates?

Did a full re-install, and all the updates , then SP1

I have to say that you are all lucky that you can atleast get SP1 installed. I am stull unable to install SP1 through either the standalone install or through windows update as it keeps failing saying it cant read the files.

Had the same problems Ovia but a new install solved it, after letting superfetch and disk indexing settled appears to be more snappier than before and noted improved transfer speeds.
