*** VISTA SP1 (now with proper Microsoft.com download links!!!) ***

I installed it a few weeks back now and it took about 30 mins. Not that uncommon for a service pack install TBH. Bare in mind this SP includes a new kernel and at least one of the multiple reboots is when the new kernel gets installed...

Now my pc wont go into standby mode ;/ screen goes off but the rest of the system stays running??????????
Also it takes ages to boot up now ;/

prob uninstall this tbh, I had no problems before sp1 now I have 2.

Sounds like there are a fair few problems with it-is it worth upgrading at the moment or not? Will these issues be ironed out?

Bear in mind that for every post you see on here with a problem, there are likely to be another 50 people who have istalled without issue whatsoever.

Total time to download & installed & reboot 20mis.
I was expecting it to take longer.
4xRAID-0 & 8GB, AMD6400 @ 3520 may of helped.

as anybody got slow bootup after installing sp1? after installing sp1 on a clean windows installation i notice the bootup time takes longer. also when i first turn my system in the morning it doesn't boot fully in to windows, it gets a blue screen then restarts then it goes in to windows.. i never had this problem with sp1 rc2....
yes im doing that now... but my point is when the system been off over night then turned it on in the morning that when it happened... with the sp1 rc2 this didn't happen...

UPDATE:

it as happened again this morning on first bootup.. once it restarts itself it boots in to windows ok but very slow..... i tryed turning the system off including the power and when i turned it back on, it did the same thing..

so i'm thinking redoing vista and leave sp1 off then see if it happens again...
