*** VISTA SP1 (now with proper Microsoft.com download links!!!) ***

I downloaded from Licensing.microsoft.com the Enterprise with SP1 disc today for work both 32bit and 64bit versions.

I have to say up to now the 32bit install I am making an image with is running really nippy. :)

Oh so it's out? I saw that like half an hour ago but I thought it was a language pack or something.

So, if I install this, do you think it'll overwrite/delete any of my user files? That would be quite troublesome. It should only overwrite Windows files right?

Im sure I read somewhere that It was not going to be added to automatic windows updates until April. I could have made that up however, i have a terrible memory. Anyways downloaded service pack 1, just about to install.

It won’t touch your user files, it is just a windows update.

You read correctly.

just before I start to install this, Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Five Language Standalone (KB936330) does include the 64bit service pack right?

 My download just finished, but I noticed it says "X86" in the filename. I think I'll hold out until we get some answers.

Edit: Hmm weird. I just went back on the download page and it takes me to an x64 version now. ie. "Windows6.0-KB936330-X64-wave0.exe" instead of "Windows6.0-KB936330-X86-wave0.exe". Looks like I'll have to redownload - it's substantially larger in size too.
