*** VISTA SP1 (now with proper Microsoft.com download links!!!) ***

If you are using the 32-bit edition of Windows Vista, it doesn't really make any difference weather it is displaying the amount of memory that the Operating System has access too or the amount that you have installed in your machine. Either way, to put it bluntly, you don’t have access to the full 4GB of RAM that you have installed. :)

Upgrade to Windows Vista 64-bit I say. :p:D

I would but, Not much of a benefit, Most programs are still NOT compatible yet with it.

Plus, Once programs start utilising multi-cores and intergrate 64 bit coding then yea =)

Hello CMOS, that's not specifically true. 64-bit is just a much better platform all together, it is securer, more stable and generally faster and not to mention the memory capabilities. :)

You may be interested in having a read through this article here. It really explains the advantages of a 64-bit platform other than the memory capabilities. You may also be interested in this post here by NathanE, taken from this thread here.

Now, in regards to programs not being compatible, that's not quite true either. I would actually be very surprised if you were to experience any compatible problems nowadays. :)

ooo, You're tempting me.

Just finished installing 32-bit again cos I'm fed up with having to get out of bed to change .mkv files in 64 - Glad to see SP1 is finally on Windows Update :)

Need to wait for an SP1 compat version of Zoom Player it seems because others inc myself are getting Division by Zero errors whilst navigating through video media now.
