***VISTA SP1 RELEASED TO GENERAL PUBLIC***

Vista 32 and no sign of SP1. I thought it was supposed to be in mid-March or I am thinking of something else.

There are number of updates people with 64 but have that I don't. I presume some updates only apply to the 64 bit version. m

I did the reg hack earlier on my Vista 32 Home Premium laptop and ..

Does seem a bit nippier and everything still works. Need a few days play.

Hmmm this all running well except since installing this, my Nvidia driver keeps crashing to desktop in certain games :(

Hopefully when Nvidia actually release a new driverr it sorts it

No SP1 update showing here, vista x64 HP.

That said I don't want it unless its 100% good to go.
its rtm version which means final version.

vista is rtm also.. if u look in your OS information in EVEREST Ultimate Edition it'll say 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101-2205)

Q: Is this the final version and what is RTM?
A: RTM means Release to Manufacturing, meaning final release.

the internet broke for some weird reason and i had to system restore and now SP1 is gone and it wont let me re-dl, i guess ill just wait till its 100% officially released now, noticed no difference between no SP and SP1.

Got mine off of Technet yesterday, installed fine...

Now Live Messenger won't sign in, so I uninstalled it, now it will not install it, and a lot of websites no longer load :( including most of Microsoft's..... :p

Looks like I'll do a restore soon, there are some things I like, the RDP client is better and less annoying and Explorer remembers your folder views for "my computer" now instead of using huge icons.

I had no SP1 problems on either my laptop or PC,however my brother installed SP1 on his laptop and lost sound(sp1 actually crashed first but carried on installing after reboot from the last crash point) anyway he reinstalled his sound drivers after SP1 installation and its all working fine now.

Restored back to yesterday morning before I installed it.

I got to do a fresh install on this HP laptop as it came with a ton and a half of bloatware and crap :D so I will install it then.

from that link...
Microsoft revised earlier comments, confirming that those with automatic update settings configured in certain ways may have had the update pushed to them automatically.

A company representative also stated that the version pushed out is the final RTM version even though it may carry a beta designation.

then why in gods name dont they release it to the public?

which drivers? i know there are a few problems with some AV programs but that never stopped any other SP to be released?

i have it, im just curious on the business logic of it
