I installed nvida graphics and motherboard drivers but unsure if they installed as no nvidia icon is in the task bar which i would expect and i also cant find where to access the graphics options using in the advanced part of display settings any1 know where i find the graphic options or if i havent installed it correctly?

If you are running the x64 version of Vista and drivers of the nvidia website then you won't find it at all as it doesn't exist in this set at the moment.

Everything is working ok on my install apart from Foobar2000 which crashes out when I try and run it. Anyone else had foobar problems?

All the drivers were either found automagicly or in the case of my wireless card the XP drivers have worked fine.

Just in case any one else does have problems I haven't found anyone who has got 0.9 working yet, but the 0.8 versions seem to work fine.

I'd be interested if anyone knows how to get Windows Media Player 11 to add *.ogg files to the library correctly though, then I could have a propper play with it.

Anyone managed to get an AV package running on Vista 64? Tried Avast (didn't realise it was only for 32 but), EZ sometin or other (no realtime scan) & NOD32 (Makes both by CPU's run at 100% all the time).

Cheers,

OK Whats IMON? What does it do and is it ok turning it off? I take you have had similiar issues?
I haven't got x64, but I do use NOD32... and I've heard a few people have had issues in x86 that were solved by disabling IMON. It's the NOD32 service that scans all HTTP incoming traffic for viruses. I decided it was a waste of time, as I'm sure AMON will pick it up as soon as I try to save or run the file.

Open the NOD32 Control Centre, goto IMON on the left and disable it. See if it cures the problem.

I have to connect to the net using a bt voyager 105 usb modem thingy, and it isn't recognised by vista! I have the disc, and have even downloaded the newest drivers, but all to no avail! Anyone have any (sensible) ideas?

Avast does support Vista x64:

We are glad to announce that the latest versions of all avast! antivirus editions, including the free Home Edition, now support the new Windows Vista platform (both 32-bit and 64-bit builds)
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-antivirus-and-windows-vista.html

I've been using it with no problems.

Has anyone managed to get Java working under Vista x64? It works if I have internet explorer open but as soon as I close and then try to re run ie it stuffs up, disables Aero glass and then ie32bit promptly stops running.

I am having problems with the X-Fi Music and Vista 64 bit beta 2. Anyone else?

I have installed the vista 32/64 bit drivers from creative.com. I reboot and the card does not pick up the drivers.

I am using a Gigabyte GA-K8NF motherboard.

Its funny, ive had no probs getting basic stuff to work (wifi etc) but ive struggled with ocing, somethings gone a bit wrong with my mobo and wont oc from the bios, only can be done from in windows using uguru utility, wierd i know!

Having an opty 144 means you gotta oc to get sensible speeds, but it does run well SSSSLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWW, but if i load xp its LIGHTNING quick?

I have downloaded the ISO, burnt it to DVD and am tryuing to install on a separate partition to allow dual boot, when I boot from DVD it goes into a nero express menu asking if I wish to do a SATA floppy, when I put no it reboots...what am I doing wrong : (?

Anyone know how to get the Audigy 2 cards working in Vista x86? The web is full of people chopsing about this but there doesn't seem to be a definitive solution to get any sound!

Install the drivers from creative.com. The Audigy 2 ZS is reported to work fine (stereo only, of course).

Sorry - I should have mentioned initially that I tried those beta 1 drivers. Couldn't get them to work. Is there a new beta 2 set?

The latest are from November 2005. Not exactly current, but most report they work in some fashion.

having problems installing on my pc.....the dvd boots ok, but when it gets to the first screen where the mouse cursor arrives, the pc just freezes and the screen goes to sleep.

i thought it may be because i had partitioned my hard drive in xp and there wasn;t enough space...but after reinstalling xp with no partions, it still does it.

any ideas?

I get Explorer errors and restarts when trying to access files on a second hard drives. Machine appears stable intill its left doing nothing for more that 15 mins when it just blue screens. Its so slow installing programs like dreamweaver. It constantly apears to be accessing the hard drive, it uses 660mb of ram doing not much, it feels slow as hell. All I can say is its far from right or you need a conroe at 4Ghz to run it.
Spec I am running it on is FX51 at 2.5Ghz, 2GB ram, X800XTpe.

Update, since installing RC1 it runs very well, no issues as yet, a big improvement.
