The level of entitled asshat in this thread...is too damn high.

It was a test, yet many man babies cry about not being involved in said test.

Get a grip

The RRP is $329 on these and you put them up at £359.99 - I personally think that's a great deal? What do people expect?

The cards at £359.99 we made £5 a card on, they cost us £284 excluding VAT but shipping and logistics cost on top and then factor in today most cards sold at voucher price had free shipping so now you see why MRSP is not possible.

All 3060’s now cost us more than the MRSP and these are cards we’re buying directly from the manufacturer out of HK and TW so no middle man distributor adding margin and the MRSP is still below our cost. As with most MRSP these days it just a launch day thing for a limited quantity on a none OC product that never happens again after launch unless something dramatic happens.

As such these MRSP’s are very misleading as if anyone can find a 3060 at £299 or a 6700 XT at £419.99 and you will find it impossible.

StuartC999 - I think the point here mate is that if Gibbo just dropped them on the site, the stock alerts would go mental and they'd be snapped up instantly and relisted on ebay.

It's not ideal to cut out a portion of your customers but at least this way the cards are going to "proper" customers rather than being instantly scalped, then everybody loses out.

100% agree buddy, people will do anything at the moment to make money and if it involves snapping up a GPU and putting it on eBay then so be it. Just a shame there isnt a way / workaround to reward all of the loyal customers that they would like to :(

If this small scale test proves successful, will OCUK consider some form of voucher code validation in the future? This GPU shortage seems unlikely to go away any time soon unless worldwide silicon demand drops drastically. Such a system wouldn't have to be limited to GPU sales, it could be a great way of encouraging forum engagement and rewarding long term members.

Given the rise of the bots and scalpers I can see some system being useful when future series cards are launched eg Nvidia 4000/Radeon 7000 series

Happy to see ocuk doing something For it's Community, sad I can't Participate.

Desperate for a gpu, but oh well u can't have it all.

I'm still on an rx460 2gb, what people moaning about? And i'm sure there's older cards still in use by others happily playing away.

Gibbo, just sell your stock at scalper prices, making £5 per card is a joke.

I'm glad some people can actually get a card at better than current prices. But being bitter over not being able to get a GPU at a poo price is dumb imo. Even with OCUK not making any money off this trial, the cards are over priced. Long time customers not getting a look in i can understand, but random forum members is just that, random person.

This seems like a lose lose situation for OCUK sadly.

It’s good to see that a retailer recognises the frustration that “real” people are having with this ongoing situation.
I’m lucky enough to have managed to get a 6800XT from the January drop so my low post count won’t inhibit my participation.

Good luck to all those with MM access and remember - loose lips sink ships graphics cards.

The real problem is that now we know cards are available... what do people want to buy? 6700? 3070? I was putting off a decision until i could buy something at something like RRP.

Now it's choice time. And I'm stuck.

we will make a 6700 XT with a large volume of stock available to the general forum.

The code will leak if it's put in the General forum. It only takes one member account with 1 post to fire that off without a care in the world.

The MM setup does work well, we've all spent far too much of our lives contributing/chatting rubbish on here :p
