Apparently other asshats that have had a forum login for years, who've taken but barely contributed - are entitled to the MM.

It absolutely will. Even with today's setup a Discord stock alert group that I frequent was sniffing around it, posting screenshots of some of Gibbo's posts in this thread (though nobody actually posted the code there). It'll be all over the place five seconds after it's posted in a public setting, so for those whinging about that aspect, it likely wouldn't help you get a card anyway. It'll just get swamped with the usual scalpers and miners that are hoovering up everything else.
 
Don't suppose bulk single use discount codes can be done. That would kill off any snitching and you wouldn't need such tight windows either.

Fairly sure you'd easily get people in the forum to do the admin of checking who's on the ok or not ok list and lists of who's had a code or due a code etc...
 
For me this a real ray of light. I probably won't benefit, but getting cards into the hands of real gamers is so cool. I've got a whole new Ryzen system fully built and just waiting for a GPU. I may get lucky at some point. As an aside, I'm enjoying reading the temper tantrums from the entitled types who feel they have some God given right to have a seat at the table. You don't. OCUK have taken a reasonable strategy to serve those who are passionate about gaming. I fully support it.

Father Christmas is busy. You'd have to employ elves so it doesn't become a mafia system. EU can f off with their current mafia tactics.

My real dilemma is a picked up a 2060 (not super) as a short term card, as I had nothing at all... and the market sucked.

Now I can buy something actually good but am uncertain about relative value. Stuck at 1080p currently.

I imagine Sandy/Ivy's (lesser extent Haswell, etc) longevity put many an account into a deep slumber until Ryzen. Not forgetting newer social media... current crisis/disaster aside.

Ancient accounts also needed to activate their trust, too.
