@Gibbo quick Q! Want to order for the wifey after she rejected the 6800 i got her awhile back and i sold it on here in the MM for rrp! Would this be a problem?? Dont wanna get banned for it.... :o

Been on a ban streak lately...

yes but if we become widely known as a place who only sells new hardware privately then, when demand drops, which it will, it will have a negative impact on the company as a whole. We have to think long term. It's not just about a short term graphics card shortage.

Our public test next week will give us a good idea on how it could work for a launch because we expect people to leak the code and thus meaning we won’t do a public deal again but we will have tested it and collected data on it for potential future launches. However we have to think long term and bigger picture, we can’t become a private members club because we’d kill of our growth opportunities very fast and would impact the business negatively and that can never happen!

We shall then go back to private MM deals unless we can sort something like I suggested above about a new private forum with less criteria to gain access for forum members during these times of shortage.

We just gotta try things to try and satisfy everyone but I’m under no illusion we will never be able to please everyone and do what is right for the companies future to keep growing.

That would be fine. We've been monitoring these sales for people who have been trying to take the p*** by placing multiple orders but we're not going to investigate everyone's purchase history to see if they've already bought a card from us recently. Unless something peaks my interest...like a guy I saw who'd ordered three graphics cards in two weeks (he's not getting any more, ever)...

good to know! I mean if its an issue, i will hold out as im not here to upset or step on peoples toes.

There was some guy who bought 9 GPU's for his kids apparently, granted it was from other sites. I suppose some people do have that many kids....

Total BS peoples kids don’t all have a birthday at same time people just try to come up with excuses.

I know a guy on FB who has ordered several cards and sells them, he has not purchased from us as we do actively monitor and try to prevent it.

When you say short term, are we talking years or months? Going by Linus's new video, he's on about fabs not being able to catch up till 2023!
 
I think one thing is for sure though, bots and scalpers are here to stay and every new launch now will be riddled with them. Gonna have to come up with some crazy inventive ideas to combat it in the future.
