VOUCHER CODE DEALS CONCEPT PLAN!

Someone got one of the mm deals and then posted this in a for sale thread for another deal card.

"I will take this at asking and I'm local, disclaimer I've already ordered 1 from the deal so I'm ok if you want to pass on me to be fair.

Also to be transparent I will use this for a mining rig or possibly for a console style pc in the future. Not for selling on."

Some people clearly don't understand what "for gamers" means.

I fear this whole scheme is going to be abused no end. Don't be surprised if it's pulled. Especially with how salty some people are already reacting to it.

For clarification the rules are

"Same rules as before, purchase the card only for yourself, not a friend or family, these deals are for forum members only who want to game, anyone found reselling will lose their forum account!"

Imagine trying to bag 2 of the deals I thought that also wasn't allowed? Some people clearly have much larger brass necks than others.

Yeah no-one should sell to that guy lol. But in the main I would guess it's being bought for the intended purpose they're selling for.

I mean, of course it is. There's only so much that can be done to prevent that. You can't ultimately control what people do with the card when they receive it. A suspicious number of the same model of 3060 that was the first deal have popped up on Ebay over the past couple of days. Coincidence I'm sure.

ouch 3060's at £659.99 at a competitor in stock

now that puts oc's prices into context

We have never sold a 3060 that high but that is the typical going rate now and see them £800ish on Ebay.

We sold our 3060 at £359 to forum members last week at £359.99 down from £499.99 usual web price.

Prices will only keep going up now as all board partners seem in a race to put their prices up the most, gonna get worse in short term.

100% agree.

I also saw that in the MM section and thought it was out of order.

Just to be clear, I think the whole idea in general is great, I just don't want OCUK to pull it. I'm keeping an eye on it as I am after a new GPU mine is over 4 years old and way behind the rest of my spec. It is a bit of a kick in the teeth where people have managed to get a card to sell it on the next day......

Is he damn well joking? The whole point of this is to STOP the cards
A) being used for mining
AND
B) people who already have one.

The greed people have, yet have it invisible to themselves, really never ceases to amaze me. Why would you even ask?

Dude it literally says these in the post you replied to they want them to go to gamers not Miners???

No he's serious it's why he said he was local so he could collect and save the hassle for the seller on postage and packaging and possibly the parcel going missing or being damaged, etc.

I honestly couldn't believe it when I saw it. But obviously some don't care.

Just report the mm post, maybe he will get his access removed. I see he's trying to buy other cards for mining as well off the mm

I've reported someone profiteering off the mm before and nothing was done. I'm sure that someone else will have already done that also.

A 3060 already went to a miner before that one on the mm also and when someone challenged it in the thread they were reprimanded for doing so.

I don't think they should be allowed to sell these cards on the mm for that reason. If you don't want one after getting it return back to ocuk and let them sell it themselves.

Already had several miners over the cards and getting multiples. Which is why I fear this is going to be pulled. You cannot police it as it's a full time job. At least they tried but too many clearly don't care.

Reselling on mm after getting one just seems a way for some to skirt around the rules. You could get a mate to order a card then sell to you on mm for example. Possibly that's what happened with the 3060 because even when challenged the seller still sold it to the miner.

The mods have a tough job ahead of them and these few people will likely turn it into a blanket ban.

Huh? Why would they do that? Why would they not just exchange it privately. Let’s say I bought one for you, why would we go through the MM to sell it. Surely I’d just get you to BT me the money over and I’d send it on to you or let you come get it.

You didn’t have any proof though. Just knowing isn’t the same as proof. Your replies to me about this confirmed that there was no definitive proof.
When I was presented with the same situation and did have proof the user was banned.

I did think that after that exchange privately would be better. It's just weird how the seller didn't care it was going to a miner. So was trying to figure out why they would do that when the original purpose was for gamers.

Also the proof was obvious. Nobody buys several £300 sound cards and then offers to sell them on for their "nephew".

******* miners. Nothing worse.

Shame we can't add a mining surcharge of +100%.

And the audacity to openly admit you went against the spirit of the deal in the first place now to want to get another one? Wow.

I have nothing against miners. But abusing the spirit of the deal / members market is what I don't think is right. There are clear rules in place and yet some obviously do not care.

Hopefully they can sort these teething issues out instead of pulling it altogether.

I didn't have anything big against miners but I'm starting to. Nothing against people trying to make a quick buck but the trouble is so many seem to be doing this at the expense to others. Not quite as bad as scalpers but examples like the one above makes me think are they any different?

I personally can't wait for crypto to crash again as it inevitably will. Cards will go back to stock within a week.
Prices (like after the last mining boom) are likely screwed forever though, which is where most of my hatred for miners comes from.

The saltiness of people is strong on this thread ...I'm waiting for most of us to grab a card at some point...But makes it worse my lad needs a new card for his small rig and I'm only running a 980ti atm ,Must keep on chatting for that 1000 threshold :D but it will be in the general forum way before I reach 1000 posts
