Vovlo perversion perfection?

I'm not sure I understand 'rat look' imo that car would be about 1000000 times better with a nice black paint job instead of the trying too hard "yeah I like my drift car, but I wan't it to look like I don't give a ****, but thats the whole idea so you know I do give a **** and therefore its 'rat look' as opposed to an old banger... by the way do you like my bling a rim rims?" look. :p

Well, I think it looks like a good laugh. But then, according to several members here I know absolutely nothing about cars and my opinion is worthless :)

I get it

I was in the scrap yard round the corner from Marshalls in Newcastle yesterday and they had some cool old 740 volvos in there, one was far too good to be scrapped :(

It's RWD, any car thats RWD is now automatically cool even if it was dire when new :p

lol, that means my very first car.....a volvo 360 GLS (limited edition) is cool now? Dammit! I wish I never gave it to the scrappy! :D

Ive never seen one of those volvos on the road in my life. Im assuming those rims are 2000 times what the car is worth too. He could have used the money from the rims to buy a 200sx. Still...whatever floats your boat. :)

For some strange, perverted reason, I quite like it :o

There is something about the 'rat' look that appeals to me. It just says: "I look like **** but I don't care. Get the **** out of my way or I'll kill you, your family, and everyone in your town".

That's  by me.

I get it, its like an extreme sleeper thing. They shouldnt have those rims on there though, gives the game away.

Also I like those cars, I think they can look amazing so I dont really love those off colour panels. I like the rust effect they do, is it fake rust or real. If so, how do they stabilise it so its safe to drive and doesnt get worse.

Like Fox said, these cars are RWD so can be great to drive if you altered the suspension, like how they race old ladas in rallys.

They could do a take off of that advert on tv where the people see themselves in the future in a newer volvo, except this time the old volvo burns it off - rust and all :D

if it's coupled with the performance i imagine it has, then I think it looks pretty sweet. it's the exact opposite of riced cars, all image and no go, all go and no image....i like :D

So what you really mean is 'No opinions that conflict with my own'.

In future please state this in your opening post and I'll promise to leave such threads alone. If you want a discussion about how it looks, fine, but you must be prepared to accept adverse comments and people who don't get it and you can't just brand these people trolls and hope they'll go away.

Nothing wrong with just having a thread of favourable comments but at least state this is what you want first.

Fox, How remarkably restrained and concise.

Spray on rust? Go back to Max Power :D

Surface rust can be left ages befor you get holes and im sure the important chassis welding has be done.

I bet its fast as hell, but whats wrong with fast as hell and looking good? Why does this stupid craze mean it has to be fast and look crap?

MMM, rat look ? I thought I knew what rat look was, but that looks like an dodgy old car with replaced panels and nice wheels.. Does it go like stink?

A rat car IMO should be as original looking as possible, (every dent, bump scrape there to see, orginal panels), running gear is great condition. A kind of sleeper :D

These are some examples I found while looking: (yes I like aircooled Vee dubs)

Feel free to flame away...

Not sure if that Volvo is rat-look, but it is pretty cool. I agree with whitecrook though, thats what I would call rat-look, and VW Buses do it best :D . Im personally more of a bay window fan, but I do love pre-68's that are rat-look, especially ex-commercial. :)
